Just heard back from Spirit (via phone)... they will issue me a FULL refund if I decide cancel. Per their Rep (yes, I got a name), flights may change every month due to ??. Meaning my flight can change again in April, May, & June... can you believe that?!?! I have til June 11th to make a final decision.:confused3

Thanks... I am only concerned about my return flight on 6/20. I would like to arrive home no later than 5pm latest being 7/8ish (which Spirit offers). I am playing it by Mickey's ear right now.

I actually found a flight with 3 connections for almost $900.... are they joking? It better be a private jet for that price!!!

We got some not-so-good-but-could-be worse news today. DH will "temporarily" be laid off from April 10th thru June 1st.

They will pay his insurance and he will be eligible for unemployment benefits but that is no where near his normal pay.

Ugh!! Of course we went and applied for our passports yesterday plus today was the 1st day we have to pay a penalty if we cancel.

I think we are going to try and hold on to it as long as we can to see how things go. If it's truely only until June 1st, we should be ok.

This sucks.:sad2:

Brag alert: my DS, Rees, was just given the Rising Star award for 2nd grade for his school. He will be honored at a luncheon. This is a HUGE deal because of all that Rees has been through. He has a host of very serious medical issues, and has been in and out of hospitals for months at a time his entire life (last one was Sept-Nov 2007). He missed 6 months of 1st grade, and has completely caught back up. He also has neuro issues from being a Preemie and school can be tough. He has struggled and fought his entire life and is always happy and upbeat. I haven't quit crying since I opened the letter. I am so proud of my little man! Can't wait for y'all to meet him. He is the most fun, happy, smiling, Disney loving kid!

Congrats to Rees...that is great!:cool1: I fully understand the trials and ups and downs in dealing with preemies. Our guys were born at 29 weeks... 1 lb.14oz, 2 lbs. 11 oz, and 2 lbs. 14 oz. You should be very proud of both your and his hard work to make this award possible!

I'm so sorry!!!:sad1: That does stink! OK, time to go into extra frugal mode so you guys can do this cruise with us! Go check out the budget board if you haven't already. My goal for this cruise was to look at every possible way to save us money. I'm even working an extra side business to pay for our whole trip! Sending you some pixie dust that things hold out for you!:wizard::wizard:

Yuck. I hate this for you. Hope ya'll can work out everything.

Hi, y'all! The rate this thread is going, we will have to start a new one way before our cruise!

Happy Birthday, Fran!

I think the kids and I will be on Deck 9, but DH may go to Deck 10 to video it all. I'm up for saving spots too! Can't beat a good spot!

Going out for drinks/dancing sounds good too. And I would love to do the Mate game on the 1st night. DH and I will be married 14 years tomorrow (yes, April Fools Day- no joke and then we had triplets...) and have been together for 20 years. Be interesting to see if we really know each other!

Love the new magnets. I have TWO doors to decorate, so I'll need some help. Still debating 1 or 2 FE as well.

Off to get the trio off the bus. Have a good afternoon!

Happy Anniversary!! Ours is April 6th, 13 years married for us- 15 together- but I knew him long before we dated. We couldn't stand each other!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Happy upcoming Anniversary.....

Thanks! Ours were at 28.5 weeks and weighed 2-6, 2-9, and 1-13. They spent 14 weeks in the NICU. Rees has Cerebral Palsy, numerous serious medical issues that require lots of meds and frequent monitoring (GI, endocrine), Neuro issues from Periventricular Leukomylacia, Anxiety Disorder, and sensory issues. He just had his 17th surgery a month ago and gets therapy 5 times a week. But through it all he is a trooper and fantastic kid! He's in a regular classroom and does great with Special Ed help. He's very social, lots of friends, and most people wouldn't notice anything different. He's my hero!

Which reminds me I need to fill out and fax the medical form to DCL. We will be bringing his wheelchair on the ship (he needs it for long distances as he is very low tone and tires out extremely easily) and all his meds.

I will be praying for your family and that your DH can either get his job back faster or finds a new one that is even better!!!

Thanks, y'all, for the well wishes for Rees and our anniversary. Guess it'll be 14 years in around an hour. It's been a FABULOUS 14 years (20 since we started dating). I am a very luck wife and mom.:cloud9:

I know the last thing you need is another..."I am sorry" but I do hope the best for you guys!

Maddy was in the NICU for about a month. She was HUGE compared to the other babies, especially the multiples!

Oh boy he is a fighter!!!

Maddy has PDD NOS and Sensory Integration Disorder. We spend 4 days a week out in town at different therapies and her ABA therapist comes 5 days a week to the house.

He def is a hero! That is awesome and what an honor for him!

I guessed she was on the ASD with your button. They have tested Rees over and over for ASD, but he doesn't fit any of the profiles- PDD, Autism, Aspy. They have finally agreed he isn't ASD, but has sensory issues coupled with severe anxiety and OCD (Obsessive Compulsive just like my DH). The end result is a different label, but some similar characteristics. So we just ignore the labels and do the treatments, therapies, meds, etc that are needed to help out. He's in a fantastic public school system. He is in a regular classroom (he's bright but has LD). He gets pulled out for 2 segments a day for 1:1 (math and reading). Then he is co-taught in the classroom for the other half of math/reading. He gets a special ed Para pro twice a day as well. He also does PT, OT, and Speech twice each weekly. He is very sociable, lots of friends, does great with groups and following directions. Has problems with transitions, loud noises or sudden changes. He's just Rees!

With your DH being gone all the time, I can't imagine how tough it is on you. I am so blessed to have an amazing DH who can be home.
