How can you tell that? What are the chances of being upgraded?

I went on the DCL website, and tried to book our cruise, the first available cabin is Cat 10 and up. I would assume they have overbooked Cat 11's/12's. I don't know how that works with us in our Cat. 12's, hopefully good!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

I know that several of us have almost 14 year olds. (I have a boy and a girl who will turn 14 on Aug 4.) Are you going to try and sign them up for the stack or sign them up for ocean quest and try to move them to the stack if they are bored.

I really don't know what to do... I have 2 kids almost 11 (daughter 11 on July 31, nephew 11 on Aug 5), then 2 kids almost 14....

I'm thinking that the almost 11's and my son almost 14 would have fun in ocean quest. If they are with my son it will give them more freedom to stick together and come and go in a group. However, my daugther mature beyond her years would probably enjoy the stack more.

So what are you guys doing with your "almost" kids??

My DS turns 14 on April 26th and he will be in The Stack. He is looking to meet others around his age. Will he be able to go to Ocean Quest too? Do you want to PM me with your email and the kids can chat and get to know one another?

My DD turns 14 in Sept. She is also mature beyond her years. She will be going into high school in the Fall. I really think it depends on the child and their maturity, but all of her friends are older (she went to private school for K-3 so was able to begin school at age 4). We plan on going to talk to the counselors at the Stack when we get there and also let them know she already has 2 friends who will be going to be in the stack. We are keeping our hopes up, but if they say no, then she'll be OK with ocean quest or just hanging in other places than the stack.

Hey Fellow cruisers,

Well, we've had quite a bit of sadness these last several days. DH's mom passed away last week and there was a service for her yesterday and she was laid to rest today. We all feel emotionally exhausted. I just wanted to come to my happy place here and visit with ya'll. This board really helps take my mind off things! I am really looking forward to this cruise and meeting up with a great group of Dis-ers!:flower3:
Sorry for your loss.

CAt 11's are back for our cruise. They have gone away a couple of times for a brief time.

Right now on their website there are 8 CAT 11's avail on Deck 6. Also, there are atleast 2 sideways CAT 11's on Deck 5 avail that are not avail online.

When I was looking to up-deck, this happened quite a few times where rooms were available then not then available again. I think I should have gone for the non-connector but hoping to possibly get upgraded due to some wanting connecting rooms.

My DD wants to go to the stack, had been looking forward to it for quite sometime. If it weren't for the DIS, we wouldn't have known they changed the age, as the website still says 13. She will be 14 (9/1), her & her DF are beyond their age, also. In our town, our high school is 7-12th...they are used to older kids & have older friends. Guess we are playing it by ear & what happens, happens. We have been priming them, that they may not be able to be in the stack... hopefully they won't be too disappointed!

I think you need to go by what DCL says and not the DIS boards. I am not saying that the boards are not correct but when you board and explain to DCL that this is what you were expecting bc that is what their website states then I think you should be fine.

Last cruise DD was brand new potty trained. I read up and down the boards how they can't have any accidents, they don't offer any help, if your kid has an accident they are out of the club for 24 hours. When getting to the port and speaking to the clubs manager, it was NOTHING like that. They marked Maddys file that she need reminders. They were great about it and we never had one problem.

So I stressed for months about something that was not even an issue!

Yea, the change affect Rob as well. He turns 10 in May and before the change he could have done Ocean Quest but now he will still be in the Lab. He loved the Lab last summer so he will be fine. I think there is a time that he can at least check out the Quest during the cruise.

I think that is what we may do. I know what you about the stressing :lmao: Guess I will have to stop & just wait & see what happens! :)

Not sure how DCL does this but now there are no 10's left! Go figure. There is no way they sold all the ones they had avail last night....Maybe though they are assisgning them to all of you with CAT 12's!

I feel so bummed today for our friends. After they found out we were going and the great Cat12 deal they have been on a wait list from my TA for the past 3 weeks) and even though they are at the top to get a room, so far no more good cat 12 deals have come about.
I keep checking here and there for them and found nothing. They will give it till next week but then she says she needs to go ahead a make other plans for their vacation time in June and can't wait much longer. This would have been their 1st Disney cruise.

Thanks everyone for your condolences. :flower3: Kids went back to school this morning, and DH is going into the office for a few hours so the house is once again very quiet. Except for my sneezing and sniffles. The pollen count is extremely high and yesterday was so windy and cold at the gravesite. I hadn't even bothered to check the forecast - it was so nice and warm the day prior so I went out unprepared with a thin pashmina that the kids and I wrapped up in. It dropped down to 38 last night, but by Thurs its supposed to be 83! Crazy weather! These boards help take my mind off things. DH doesn't read the boards. His outlet is going to the pistol range to practice. He says that and hunting are the best thing for stress relief.:confused3 Well, thanks again everyone! I know you all would be a great source for uplifting the spirits! :goodvibes
