6/13/2009 Western on Magic- Our Cruise Chat Continues!

Got my docs... AND then disappointment sets in ~ there is nothing in it pertaining to the cruise! Is that because I did on-line check in months ago?

It has important info, my DCL transfers (which I cancelled after docs were printed), onboard check in (I am not using a participating airline) & blank cruise/airline contracts ~ THAT's IT!!!. My luggage tags say the Dolp (was told to cross that out cuz I am now @ the Swan) BUT where are my cruise tags!!! (are they the same ones?). :sad1:

You should have some luggage tags that are green with a barcode and your name & stateroom number on them, they are for the ship you typically do not put them on til right b4 you get to the port when the porters take your luggage, it tells them which cabin your in hope this helps:thumbsup2

What are all of you doing as far as excursions??? I'm sure you all have already talked about this somewhere in the hundreds of posts, but I'm a little behind the times on the board. Are you going through Disney or on your own? I have been too busy planning other peoples Disney family vacations that I haven't even begun to plan ours. Has anyone heard of Moby Dick Tours in Grand Cayman? I don't know anyone who has been on it, but all the reviews I read are really good. They take you to Rum Point and Stingray City in a smaller group. A friend said my kids would enjoy the butterfly museum on Key West. I considered taking the trollery around Key West. Of course, we don't know if we are going to Cozumel or not yet. I'm looking for something my 5 and 7 year old would like. Suggestions??? :confused3

A bunch of us are doing the Pirate excursion through DCL in Grand Cayman(the early one), it looks like alot of fun. If we go to Cozumel- we are doing the Dolphin excursion- booked on our own through Dolphin Discovery. In Key West - we are doing the trolley tour- on our own- not through DCL.

We are at Swan and Dolphin till Tues June 23rd. Fly out at 9pm that night to Baltimore. We plan on doing a water park(s) both Sat and Tues, and DHS on Sun and Epcot on Mon. We'll also add in Disney Quest and I forget what else. We have 5 day tickets plus water parks and more. Not planning on hoppers...yet. :goodvibes

Have fun in Bmore!! What area are you from again?

Hi there, We will be cruise with everyone. We are do kayaking with Lazy Dogs in Keywest only $35 pp for 2 hours. Grand Cayman, we are taking jet skies to sting ray city with Fat Fish, we have ready so really good review. Cozumel we are go to try the dune buggy tour. I can hardly wait!!:woohoo::woohoo:

Ok ... crazy ?; I know you can bring alcohol & H20 on board but what about pop/soda? Jayde prefers pepsi over coke products. I told her she needs to carry it herself.

Northeast Bmore near Herring Run park. Siblings now live in Timmonium, White Marsh, and Perry Hall. I stay in Perry Hall when we visit. I hope the kiddos go to the Naval Academy. I'll get to go up north all the time then!! Can't wait to eat some really good steamed crabs when we come up in June!

We are doing..

Key West - Fury Parasailing... my 3yo does not stop asking when we are going to do it. She thinks it is not until the TA next year! LOL

Grand Cayman - Boatswain Beach (Turtle Farm)

Cozumel - Nothing, we prob won't even be getting off the ship

Castaway - Just enjoying the beach

Stephanie, not all the people on the list are actually staying at the Radisson some are just coming over to hang by the pool and meet everyone, I don't think it matters but I didn't want anyone to be confused the list is mainly of who's coming to the Radisson on that Friday, just so that those of us who are there will have an idea of how many people we will get to meet:thumbsup2

triplefig is coming by to meet everyone as well so the new updated list is:

runwad & fam
ruley3 & fam
nikkistevej & fam
pclaire & fam
disneydreamer82 & fam
pixiedustaholic & fam
TammyAlphabet
triplefig

Anyone else? Roll Call for the Radisson!!?!?!?! Even if your not staying there and are planning on coming to the pizza by the pool DIS meet, we wanna know who we might see:cool1:

For the website I am not keeping track of who is going on what meets...just who was staying where before and after the cruise. Let me know who needs to be taken off the radisson list.

No you just have luggage tags to get your bags from the airport to the Swan. Those are the same tags that will get your bags to your room when you drop them off at the port. That is as exciting as it gets!

We have a ressie at the Radisson but right now I am not sure if we will keep it. We both have to work on Friday and I HATE driving at night and in rush hour traffic. We may just drive down on Saturday morning. Can I transfer the ressie to someone if I don't need it???

I am sooooooooo looking forward to this cruise. It's our first cruise and I am apprehension about will we all enjoy it. But I keeping reading that there is so much to do......

You can bring that too! :thumbsup2

We're having some next weekend at my Aunt's in southerm Maryland. My mom's sisters and their families are all coming up from Tennessee to visit and to go to Washington DC- so we're getting a couple of bushels. :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

P.S. I'm from southwest Baltimore(Pigtown area- LOL), but live in Catonsville now.

hi everyone -- here's a to do for everyone that is IMPERATIVE (and I keep forgetting to tell you all)

Sometime in the next couple of days, before things get too hectic, determine which credit card you are going to use for the trip for your on-board any shore excursions and/or purchases (even if you don't plan on buying anything, you never know.. plus you might find yourself in an emergency situation..)

Ok, now call the toll free # on the back of it and tell them that you will be on a Cruise, going to Key West, Grand Cayman & Cozumel and give them the week (they don't need the exact dates). They will mark your account so that if they see a charge on it they won't freak out and freeze your card.

I learned this the very hard way on a trip to Nassau. By the time I went to check out from the Atlantis my credit card was frozen/blocked since the security dept saw this weird "pre authorization" for big bucks (it was the Atlantis so they put well over $1000 as a pre-auth) and then many purchases in a short period at different stores (my luggage didn't arrive for 4 days so I had to give in after day 2 and actually buy some clothes!!!). The credit card company left message on my HOME TELEPHONE machine asking me to call them and verify the charges.. Hello? I was in Nassau!! Long story short, they cancelled my credit card and I had to go through this huge thing to get it reinstated.

Way better safe than sorry and it takes a minute or two to do. (but I've been waiting to tell you because they don't like the information too soon!)

Thanks Donna! :thumbsup2 I need all these reminders because there are so many small things to do that I know I will forget. You all may already know this but also don't forget to contact the Post Office to hold your mail.

Also the newspaper- we get the weekend paper- so I set up to cancel that for the time we're gone.

Jayde & I are watching the Travel Channel's show on DCL.... what a way to get ready for our trip!

Although she is getting upset that she won't be 18 on the cruise... no spa, salon, fitness ctr, or Diversions (to watch the Stanley cup games if needed).

Stephanie ~Thanks for Palo brunch. I will need to look at the menus.

Donna ~ Thanks for the reminder! I just called my card.

DisneyBaby ~ Thanks... too early for me to put my mail on hold.
