6/13/2009 Western on Magic- Our Cruise Chat Continues!

WOW! My DD is 13, just got her braces on last August... due to her finally losing all her baby teeth last year! Funny how kids are different!

So we are off for 2 days @ Disneyland. We are getting a late start today but we heated the pool so we went swimming.

Hi Everyone!
Since this will be the last "quiet" Sunday until the cruise, I figured I'd be productive.. in a "Dis" sort of way..

So I made our magnets, stickers for our FE gifts (which are still tbd, but we have cute personalized stickers for them) and our FE. I went with a pirate theme and sewed it by sort of experimenting since I didn't have a pattern. (I was sent a no-sew pattern but I wanted to sew it together).

For the graphics, I added our names to a graphic for a magnet I found, then covered it with contact paper and ran a zig zag stitch around it to sort of applique it in place.

Here are some of the magnets which are now on my fridge:

Thanks everyone! It's my first attempt but Morgan wants to hang the FE in her room after the cruise so I know that means she likes it!

I am not nearly as creative as the folks on the DISign board! They are both talented and generous with their time!

Not to brag but Ben just finished our FE cabin gifts. He really did a good job. I can't wait to deliver and hope everyone will like it.

We just ordered our magnet paper. So he will be working on our door magnets in this next week.

Jordan (also 6) has lost 6 teeth already!! Everybody seems pretty shocked- she got hers at 4 months though, maybe the earlier they come in- the earlier they go out. LOL

Rob who just turn 10 has only 1 baby tooth left to lose and it is loose. The first of his last set of molars has just broke through. He will probably get braces by the end of the year.

I think we will start to get stuff together to pack next weekend. I have suitcases out with stuff sitting in it that I need to take- but no clothes yet.

So where do you find the pictures and how do you put your names on the towel, chairs etc?

There are alot of blanks on the magnet thread, you just save them as a picture, then open it up with a print shop program & you can write whatever you want on them. Atleast, that is what I did.
