5th Person in a Poly room...

I am thinking of staying at the Poly on our next trip. I know that the rooms can accomodate 5 but I was wondering whether the 5th person sleeps on the day bed or would a cot be brought in? If it is the day bed, would it sleep an adult comfortably?

Several years ago BDVC (before DVC) we stayed at the Polynesian. We had our son, our two nieces, my husband and myself. We stayed in the Moorea Bldg (now the Tahiti). I spent a few nights on the day bed and it was very comfortable. It was twin sized. I am 5'11" tall and had no problems.

With three kids, if there are only two beds, momma don't sleep! I found the daybed to be just fine. I'm not 5'11", but not exactly a size 4, either, and I was quite comfortable.

The blanket phobics wouldn't enjoy the set-up, though; no linens. Luckily with three kids, I had blankies! ;)

I found the day bed quite comfortable. There's not a lot of room to stretch out, but for a twin bed it's fine. I don't think you'll have a problem.

No linens on the day bed??? Do you have to call and request them?

The blanket and pillow are in the closet. We always request Turn-Down service when we stay there, and we leave the blanket and pillow on the daybed. It's all made up when we return.

Not sure of the ages & relations of your group, but the "day bed" works fine for us. Our 3 children fight over it each night. Adult would be fine too.

Is there sheets for the daybed? I'm not a phobic person, I actually sit on the bedspread! But to have one of my kids sleep all week on a bed with no sheets, that doesn't sound comfortable to me!

Do all guests get turndown service, or is it just concierge? We cruise a lot, so I am used to turndown serivice, and would really like it when we stay at the polly if it is available..

There are DEFINITELY sheets on the daybed. There is an extra blanket and a pillow in the closet. The sheets do not have to be requested ... they are on all the daybeds whether or not you use it. If housekeeping sees you are using the daybed they will make it up each day ... and do turndown service on it at night.

I've found the daybed quite comfortable even when I was 7 months pregnant.

My niece used the daybed at GF, you had to lift up the cover, the sheets were made up underneath.

Sound like Mrs. R needs a refresher visit. I wonder how soon I could manage that. ;)

Sorry for the fuzzy memory!
