We plan on taking our BOB running stroller just because we will have it for the days prior to the cruise. Are running strollers allowed- Can I use the running stroller and take my baby on the 5k run? I am a runner and would plan on running with the stroller (so not just taking the baby for a walk ) also, is the race on paved road? thanks!

Road is paved, however, there is ZERO shade.

Technically it's only for 12+. At times, CMs would not allow kids and had parents check them on the club.

So, I would not plan on it just to be on the safe side...

thanks! if I run a 5 k in about 25 minutes how long would I be away? If I cant take the baby with me I would like to let my husband know about how long I will be gone. So from the timeyou meet the group onboard, the timeit takesto walk to start, run 25 and be back on board, abouthow long would that be?

I would get a definite answer from DCL before you decide not to run with your baby and report back here. I have run races with my baby and often a race will specify if you cannot run with a stroller. Since the CC 5K is more of a fun run I don't think the rules are as strict. I run 5 miles everyday with my baby in our BOB Ironman and would love to run with her when we sail in March (we will be travelling with my mom who will watch the baby while we run if we can't run with her so I can't comment on making arrangements with the kids club). Our stroller has the weather kit so I am not worried about the sun.

When we sailed in June my husband ran and I took the baby to the beach as soon as the boat was cleared. We made plans to meet at the second family beach (near Pelican Plunge). He ran the race which I think started around 9:30am on our sailing and then had no trouble finding us.

I can't answer about whether DCL will allow you to push a stroller in the CC 5K, but I will call your attention to the fact that you will need to store the stroller in your stateroom when it's not in use. There are ways to do this, depending on how compactly it folds - in the closet (which might not leave room for clothes), under the bed, in the tub except when showering. I have heard people say they leave it on the veranda, however that is not really allowed by DCL and you could be asked to bring it inside. A jogging stroller typically folds less compactly than other strollers and therefore will take up more space in an area where space can be at a premium. So if running the 5K is the ONLY reason you would bring the large stroller, you might want to re-consider and let baby hang out with daddy during the run.

Enjoy your cruise!

. . . So from the timeyou meet the group onboard, the time it takes to walk to start, run 25 and be back on board, aboutt how long would that be?
As I recall from the last time I did the 5K, the pre-run was a long and inefficient process.

From the meet time to the start time was around 30-40 minutes while they waited for guests to arrive, signed in guests, divided into groups of walkers and runners, and walked off the ship.

YMMV.

There are many stroller rental services in Florida. WDW's childcare service Kids Nite Out will deliver it to you. Yes, you can take it on the criuse. They have jogging strollers. I'm not sure about the other stroller rental companies, what they offer, etc. I thought of doing the same thing, then remembered thay I want to keep this trip as stress free as possible, so I nixed the idea. It's just a blink in time for how much it would entail to pull off.

Thanks for the replies and ideas! We need our jogging stroller for the week we will be in Florida (not doing anything Disney) prior to the cruise. So we will be taking it on the cruise. A BOB folds pretty flat and will hopefully fit under the bed. I fold it everyday in and out of the car, pretty easy. WOW, 45 minutes before the run?! I may not be running it. The idea of spending about 1.5 hours just to do a 5k run may not work for us, with the kids and rest of the party all waiting to get on CC. I may just run on the treadmill. I was hoping that we just met somewhere and got escorted to the start line and then kind of started running, since it seemed like an informal thing. I love running races though so its a bummer.
