I have faith. I think you could probably get it done in one day, given the right thread.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

This could be THAT thread! So are you excited about the cruise? I'm so sad I can't go.

You bet!!:thumbsup2 I wish that the economy were doing better so more DIS'ers could go. But I feel there will be more opportunities for us to gather and show our wackiness beyond the cruise.

What about your upcoming trip to the Poly? Can you contain the excitement? Is this your first time at the Poly?

You make it untill your trip, just babble around and hijack all the threads

I could have afforded to go, just didn't have anyone to go with! My husband has no interest and I couldn't afford to pay for a cabin to myself.

Yes, we are very excited about our upcoming trip. We have never stayed at the Poly. But that is the one our daughter has been wanting to stay at since we took her the first time 2006. Her next wish is Yacht and Beach Club but my husband is not real big on that one. I think we are going to work on him for next year. More than likely we will book our room for next year before we even head back home. That's what we usually do.

I kind of wonder why they wanted to stay at the Poly since we were just in Hawaii in June. But oh well, that's what they wanted so that's what we booked. I am very excited about the monorail. We have never ridden Splash Mountain because if I get cold I have a hard time warming up. So we plan to hit the park one day and if we ride Splash Mountain and are just horribly wet and cold we can just hop back on the monorail and change and then go back to the park. We are all looking forward to riding it for the first time.

That brings up a question...anytime we are there the lines are horrendous. Does Splash Mountain have a FP?

Okay, I'll share some plans. We have two surprises happening this trip.

DH does not know but on the evening we arrive we are going a Wishes Fireworks Cruise. DD was snoopy and saw a thread on the disboards where I was talking about it. So she has been sworn to secrecy (spelled right?). He THINKS he knows what the surprise is. We always go to California Grill our first night onsite for dinner and fireworks viewing from there. So I think he feels I let something slip a few weeks ago and he has it figured out. BUT nope, he doesn't.

Then if you heard my voicemail last week on the show. DD does not know but we are taking her to see La Nouba. She has been asking to go for a while and we decided to go ahead and give it a try.

The morning after we arrive we have reservations for breakfast at Crystal Palace at 8:30am. Have never made them this early but I did this year because we are so close and I really want to be on Main Street before the park opens and see how it feels without all those people.

So those are a few of our plans.

I thought I recognized the name...

Sounds like a BLAST!!!

And I am pretty sure Splash Mountain has FastPass.

We will be there March 12 - March 21. Trying a few new restaurants this time. If I could just get DD to give up Garden Grill. Man I hate that place.

Kevin and Pete would be ashamed of me but we are going to give Tony's Town Square and Yak and Yeti and try this time. We are also go to try Brown Derby. I'm really looking forward to that one. Other than that I think all the restaurants are places we have tried and liked in the past.

Oh, I'm also really excited about the sushi bar at the Poly. DH and DD don't like sushi but LOVE that they can order off the Kona menu. We had to cancel our Kona reservation for breakfast, which made me sad. But the main reason I wanted to go was to try the Tonga Toast and they have that at the counter service.

The guy I work for and I are having a disagreement about the Tonga Toast. It is horribly unhealthy so my theory is to try it on Saturday morning the first day we eat breakfast at the resort. Then I have an entire week to walk it off. His theory is you eat it on the the last day of the trip. Because what if you eat it at the beginning and you REALLY like it. Then you are going to want it every day!

SM does have FP. It is located close to where you enter the line for the attraction.

And you are going to love the POLY! So far, that is the resort that is my favorite!

Have fun!

Angie

I'm sure that you can do it. :thumbsup2 Have a great time in your upcoming trip.

Have a nice and safe trip. :)

So you're down to 41.....how many times have you packed and repacked?

Have one suitcase already started and the toiletries bag is already started! I know it's horrible. Have you started packing for the podcast yet?

Was just looking over the TSA website. We usually check our prescription medication but this year we are looking at putting it all in one of those little 7 or compartment things and carrying it on. Any idea what the guidelines say about that? I can't seem to find medication on the TSA website.

I've packed and repacked and unpacked and changed out my suitcases and packed again. About 6 times all together. The weather up here will prohibit wearing any of the clothes I would take to Florida and on the cruise, so I figured why not.

I always carry my Rx's on with me. And my medical equipment. I always carry a note from my doctor, just to be covered, but have not been asked any questions about it. They seem to have issues with my insulin pump when I pass through the X-ray machine, but that's another ball of wax.

I'm gonna carry the Rx on with me. Sounds like it's not a problem.

Had something kind of exciting happen today (well yesterday!). After my Weight Watchers meeting I hung out in town running errands and had lunch with my husband. I have been on the hunt for a new park bag because I like mine but there isn't quite enough room in it. So I suggested on the way back to downtown that we stop at the local Backwoods (hiking, canoeing, etc. store) to look at their bags. My husband has bought gloves there before and really likes it. So I figure they have to have lots of backpacks and I've been in every Container Store in the metro area and can't find a new bag.

So anyway, in we go and the only bags they have are these Osprey bags that are pretty cool and are $50. A little steep but hey it's for Disney! So the woman asks if we have shopped there before and I said sure, my husband has. She asks his name and sees that he is in their computer and she asks his birthday. 1/26...she said oh well you should have gotten a card this bag is the one we give our customers for their birthday just take it. WHAT? :woohoo: Then she says oh let's get you in the system so when your birthday rolls around you can get another one. :dance3:

So new park bag...score. Of course once I got home I worked from 1pm to 1am at my desk and went to bed gripping that I didn't even get to play with my new bag! My husband was laughing. So this later this morning I'm going to move all the stuff from my old park bag to my new park bag and play with it.

Holy Canoli!! That is sweet! Congrats on the bag!
In your mind, what determines a good bag?

I like a bag that is not a true backpack...I like to be able to sling it over one shoulder or across my body (does that make sense?). This one is better than the one I have used the past two years for the following reasons:

Has a outside pocket for a bottle of water
Has a outside pocket for my cell phone
Has a big enough pouch area to hold DD's autograph book. You know how big and bulky those things can get.
Has a pouch big enough for me to throw an additional bottle of water inside. We ship water ahead to the resort and I like mine room temp. So I can put it inside with other stuff and it won't "sweat" all over things as it warms up.

Has quite a few little pouches on the outside for me to squirrel away little things. Like sweet n low, which they don't stock in the parks!
