$5300 on Disney World Hotels

Last night we received a year end summary for our credit card. We spent $5300 on Disney hotels last year.

Funny it never seemed like that much money!!!
But it sure does add up fast.

And when you see it as a lump sum you start thinking of all other things you cold have spent that money on.

Oh, well we had fun.

Anyone else have the same feeling?

Well, I certainly didn't spend that much on Disney hotels, but we did spend a pretty good buck, and it was worth every red cent.

Funny how us Disneyfied people can easily justify dropping cash on the Mouse.

Have you looked into buying DVC? For that $5300 you could be nearly halfway toward paying off a 150 point contract!

WOW! Just imagine....If you would double that, you could stay at WDW every year for the rest of your life if you would have purchased DVC! Actually, a bill like that is exactly why we DID buy DVC 8 years ago!

My first thought was also DVC. We love it and it is such a great way to vacation

I got mine too. I won't even list what my debt is, but its way more than I planned on (much of it because I went througha divorce 3 years ago and am still paying off debt from when I was stuck with a $1400 a month rent that I then I had to pay alone after my X left. (I was stuck in a lease).

Pretty much all my other living expenses had to be charged for a year, because $1400 is basically what I bring home after taxes every month.

Now my rent's $450 a month but I'll be paying off my debts to my one credit card for the rest of my life.

When I do go to Disney, I go on the cheap and I pay cash or use a check card attached to my bank account.

DVC was also my answer. We bought into DVC for almost the same reason...We were going on the DCL and decided by the time we paid for the cruise we would have almost half our points paid off.
We LOVE DVC!!!

We have spent a little over $5000 each year for the last 3 years at WDW resorts. This year is goes up because I didn't get an AP rate! I am going to be spending $6100 for our resort.

Wow! We stay at Value Resorts & for our last trip (1 week stay) in Dec, we spent about $500, for Easter we're spending just a tad over $500 & we're going again Dec 04 & that will be just less than $500! So that's about $1500 for 3 trips ~ staying one week (give or take a day on each trip).

If I spent as much as you, I would also be looking into DVC. It might be worth your money!

The $5300 was for three trips and a total stay of 27 days. If I wanted to go DVC for that many days a year I have to buy > 450 points...

Also I don't anticipate going to disney every year for the rest of my life. My kids are 2 and 5 so Disney vacations are great for them right now. But as they get older I will want to expose them to other destinations.

We are DVC members and we would really be spending some big bucks if we werent. Although we do still stay in some of the other resorts for cash as well. For instance this trip we are staying 1 night PC and 5 nights Poly on AP discount. We are also staying 5 nights in a 2 bdrm at BWV. Ours dues this year were less than $800 and 1 night alone here in June would be $705 + tax, so for 5 nights we would have been spending $3912.75 a savings of over $3000 not to bad.
