Have the dates of the 50 year celebration been announced yet? We are planning on taking our 1st DL trip during that timeframe. Thanks!

Thanks for the responses! So will everything be ready to go on May 5th or will some of the decorations, shows, etc come later? Would we be crazy to go in May? It will be our first trip to DL and I would like to avoid the summer (dd starts her first year of school next fall, I was thinking of Oct. but don't know if she should miss right away).
Thanks!

The celeberation starts May 5, 2005. As for "everything" being ready by then well I am pretty sure Space Mountain will not be open (rumors are not until November 2005), Buzz is not suppose to open until July 17, 2005 (the actual Anniversary Day) but the parades, Disneyland History show, fireworks etc should all be set to go on May 5th.

I agree, if Disney says the celebration starts May 5, then you know Disneyland (other parks) will BE READY! :Pinkbounc :bounce:
Decorations, parades, etc. I don't have plans on going, but hey, you never know. I may live vicariously (sp?) thru a co-worker or other DIS board members who will be going.

I will be there on both dates. Its really fun going on the birthday. The park is filled with cheer . Its great.

it's an 18 month celebration, if you can go in Nov or Dec, the holidays at DLR are the best!

If you could delay till November, I'd do that. Like someone else said, Buzz won't be open till July and Space mountain may not be open until November. The Christmas season at Disneyland is so beautiful and you'll have lots of "extras" to enjoy between the 50th celebration and christmas events.
