Anyone know if Mama Melrose Fantasmic package still includes an appetizer, even if you are using the DDP for the package?

I believe if you are on the basic dining plan the answer is no. No appetizer included. The package is really not a "package". You are not paying a set amount to eat there with the package. You can order anything from the menu for the same price as anyone else. So if you are using the plan you will have to follow the plan rules.

We love Mama Melrose (ate there twice) and we were very disappointed in 50's Prime Time. We had 5:30 ADR and was rushed through. The seating arrangements made us think that we were eating with the family next to us and the food was very disppointed. My husband will eat anything and he agreed that we will mark it off our list. The meatloaf was dry with no flavor, the green beans were undercooked. This was in May so it wasn't during peak season. Now, come Sept we will be trying Sci Fi for the first time.

Does the 50's Prime Time still have those FANTASTIC Peanut Butter & Jelly Shakes??? Many years ago we were there and those were the BEST!!!

Oh my gosh, yes! We were just there last week--that was one mighty tasty shake. Definitely worth the money!

As for the restaurants, I'd say
50's
Sci-Fi (my personal fave, but the food is better at 50's)
Mama Melrose

I dine at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the experience & not the food, except for the Brown Derby. If you were to choose between those 3 and Brown Derby, though, the latter wins, hands down!

Can someone tell me when you go to Sci-Fi if with a party of 6 can you still sit in a car? Also can you request a car when making your ADR or is it just luck of the draw?

I can see my DS being very upset if we dont get a car seat

There are cars that seat 6 (3 rows of 2). Your car will be reserved when you call. They are hard to come by so make your reservations as early as possible. You will always get a car because that is all they have... the only exception is that they have some "table cars". Really is a table with the front and back of the car attached. This table is good for larger people and if you need a high chair. We sat in one our first time because we had the baby with us. There are only a few of those. When you check-in they will give you the option of sitting at a table car if one is available before an actual car, BUT you are free to wait until a car opens. You WILL BE IN A CAR. You will love the experience.... the only weird thing is that no one really talks during the meal because you are not facing each other (all cars face the screen). It is strange at first but lots of fun for the little ones (and for us big ones too).

Our family loved lunch at Sci-Fi. We were a group of 13 and all of us loved it. The atmosphere was great and the food was good. It was also a good break for the afternoon break because it is darker in there and it so quiet. My kids didn't even really talk all that much. It made for a relaxing meal.
