How is the food at 50's Primetime? If some people in our party aren't really interested in some of the southern homestyle meals, do they also have burgers and such during lunch time? Did you like the food, what entrees would you recommend? Thanks

50's PT is a must do for us too!:thumbsup2 The atmosphere alone is worth it IMO. And we love the food. DH always gets the meatloaf or fried chicken. We split onion rings and I have the BBQ chicken sandwich. Everything is so yummy! For dessert I had the classic hot fudge sundae and DH had the brownie sundae. I believe they also have a turkey sandwich and chicken caesar salad as well. We love it here and the food is good!:goodvibes

I have to be honest and say IMO the atmosphere is worth it. However, the food isn't the best I've had at Disney. I will say this with a caveat. I am not a vegetable or homestyle food person. So being humiliated in front of my friends, family, and fellow diners is always what I look forward to for not finishing my veggies. It's all in good fun and anyone who knows me knows i don't like veggies.

With that said, the meatloaf and fried chicken are good. My husband really likes the pot roast. But for me these are things we eat for dinner at home so on vacation I want something different. But I guess that is the point of PT50's.

Oooo, and the PB&J shake--don't forget about that! We, too, must do 50's PT every trip. We enjoy their food and love the whole experience!

We've had duds for wait staff our last 3 visits but we enjoy the food. I really like the fried chicken best (I think I've had every entree here except the fish).

But I go for the smores dessert.

Well I think you all have convinced me to give it a try. After looking at the menu for lunch, if we are not in the mood for something heavy they have some tasty options for sandwiches. But I am sure I will try either the fried chicken or the pot roast...

My family loved 50’s PT the last time we were there. You can’t go wrong with the Pot Roast or Fried Chicken. It is too much fun having to deal with the waiters.

We ate there last week and it was almost the best meal of our 10 day trip! The pot roast was fantastic! The only meals that beat it for me were Le Cellier and Teppan Edo. I had a steak at The Wave the next day and was wishing the whole time that I was eating the pot roast at 50s PrimeTime!

I suppose I'm in the minority because 50's is on my "will not return to" list. Out of the last three times there (I go by the three strikes your out rule with businesses) two were really really bad and the third was just eh. The food isn't that great, imho, and you are lucky if you get a good server. But some people go and really enjoy their meals. If we ever go in there again it will be strictly for desserts.

We loved our meal here in August, I called the morning of our day at the Studios to see if they had any openings, we were able to get in for a late lunch for a party of six. Our kids had so much fun and our "cousin" was a hoot. My oldest son 13 finished his potroast and the server held it up and yelled to everyone in the place that this is what a clean plate looked like. It did take a long time to eat there but other than that it was fun fun fun. There was a women seated near us that kept complaining about how long everthing took, and that the character of it was fun for awhile, but come on it gets annoying, she also was complaining about how epcot was a waste and there is nothing there for kids. She also told her server how the dessert was just way to sweet with the caramel corn and everything else on it, the server was like umm you read the description before you ordered?? We felt so bad for the server having to deal with that, I mean come on most people want the good character waiter. Other than that lady everthing was great. As for the desserts it is nice having a big family so we all can try something different. The dad's sundae, the smores and the angelfood cake with berries are all wonderful!!

What are the best desserts?

The brownie sundae is good! It used to be Dad's Super Sundae and enough for four adults to eat on but now is a single person dessert unless you have two people that can share nicely in which case it could be a two person dessert.

I have been there a few times for lunch and dinner and enjoyed it each time. If I am there at lunch I will order the Fish Sandwich, because that's when it's only available and at dinner I would get the Dad's Traditional Meatloaf.

I ate lunch there for the first time a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Although the server wasn't entertaining, fellow diners were fun. I enjoyed singing the theme song to "Car 54, Where are You?" with the lady at the next table. The chicken pot pie was very good.
