Does 50's prime time have hamburgers, grilled cheese and stuff like this? I looked at the allearsnet.com menu but it seems like that was not a full menu.

When I went last year the menu was pretty accurate that I looked at on the disboards. I got Fried Chicken (which was GREAT) and my DH got some kind of beef (pot roast or something like that) We liked it enough to be going back to this summer for lunch. My picky 5 year old found something she liked on the menu too and the 1 year old ate everything at the time (terrible twos seem much different!) Hope that helped a little, couldn't specifically remember burgers on menu

We ate at the 50's Prime Time last August for my husband's birthday. It's just as much about the entertainment as it is about the food there. I remember it being more "home-cooking" type meals . . . I think we had meatloaf, chicken ceasar salad. WE had a great time with our "waiter" though who claimed to be our cousin. He took the kids to wash their hands . . . of course after interrogating them about the color of the soap. When he discovered that had not in fact washed their hands before dinner. They brought my husband a decorated cupcake to "celebrate" his special day. It will definitely be a restaurant we return to on future trips.

I noticed that chicken pot pie was on the lunch menu but not on the dinner menu. That struck me as odd-usually more is offered at dinner than lunch. Besides, I'm going for dinner and I'd love the chicken pot pie. Anyone ever have it for dinner?

I wanted it as well but it was not on the dinner menu when we were there last week. I wound up with very dry pot roast. :guilty:

I had it for lunch in September. I usually love cpp, but I guess my tastes are cheap (swanson :teeth: , up to marie-calendars)....I didn't like it here. It was in a pastry crust (like a cherry-turnover), and the filing wasn't hot, at all. Maybe if it had been hot enough...

Won't order it again. My DW LOVED the pot-roast, and I'll try the famed fried-chicken next time.

That being said, we're going back twice this next trip...the desserts are that GOOD! Plus we love the entertainment and look of the place. Not a fan of smores, but the smores here are almost the best dessert in WDW, IMO. And the Peanutbutter-and-jelly milkshake...amazing (you gotta try it!). My DD wants to go back because of the make-your-own-sunday kids dessert. If the chicken is as good as reported, it'll be a darn near perfect dining experience. :goodvibes

(oops...meant to add for 'thekidsmom'...my dad asked for and was brought a hamburger, even though it wasn't on the menu. Not sure if they do this all the time for any who ask, or if they had a willing cook that day...)

We have seen other tables get a hamburger before but we have never tried ourselves. We just stick with the fried chicken, pot roast, or meatloaf.

Thanks for the info on the CPP. Thanks to your DW's "review" the pot roast sounds like what I'll look for.
