50's Prime Time -What was your experience

We ate there twice last year.

The atmosphere is wonderful, very kitschy. We were a party of 4 and for both meals, we were seated at a table with a TV. Personally, I'd be disappointed if I didn't get a table with a TV. The service was great! The sassiness was so mild, I felt jipped, LOL. We got a "take your elbows off the table", and "no dessert unless you finish your dinner" but nothing that was remotely embarrassing. I heard someone from another table asking for a drink refill and the server yelled "NO!". LOL. It was all good.

The food was okay, nothing great. I had pot roast one night and tuna casserole the next.

It was, however, my kids (ages 6 and 9) favorite place. We're going back there in June.

We had an awful experience there a couple years ago and no one in our family will agree to go back. The service was awful, the food was really bad, and the wait was too long, especially when we had a reservation. The server started out all wrong when DS20 ordered two drinks. She kept insisting that he would only get one on the DDP and I would have to pay for the other one to which I kept telling her to just bring him whatever he wanted because I had no problem paying for it. After about 7 to 10 minutes of this, she finally did bring his two drinks. She should be very glad that the tip was included in the DDP at that time.

We ate there recently for lunch, the food was okay, and the decor cute, but our server did nothing special...except pad his tip. We were on the deluxe dining plan and didn't want appetizers, he insisted he bring them anyway, and he did. He was the same way about dessert. We didn't figure out what he was doing until we were headed out the door, he was just that smooth.
For those that may not get what I'm saying, by bringing us food we didn't want, it pushed our bill higher. So, even though our bill was paid for by the dining plan, being slick he new that if he pushed our bill higher, his tip would be higher since it's based on the bill total.
Other than that, things went okay. :rotfl:
