This was our first meal ever at 50's and after this stay, we plan on visiting again on future visits.

We ate lunch at 50's on Sept 1st, 2011 (my DD's birthday). We arrived about 10-15 mins early for our ADR, and we probably waited that long before we were seated. We were seated in Cousin Cooper's section.

My DW and I each had the Grilled Chicken sandwich. We both really enjoyed this sandwich. There wasn't a lot of french fries on the plates, but, after we were done eating, we were both glad that there wasn't any more food....more fries were not needed.

DD (now 10) got the Grilled Chicken Strips with the macaroni and marinara sauce. She really enjoyed her meal, which says a lot coming from a picky 10 year whose "taste buds are changing". She also ordered the PB & J Malt. This was our first ever WDW malt. This malt was VERY GOOD!. How do I know? They give you enough malt to serve three people. Needless to say, we all pitched-in to finish the malt. Cousin Cooper gave my daughter a free bottle of water for her meal, because Mom didn't want DD to have all of that sugar before she ate her lunch.

My DS(4) got the chicken nuggets & fries ('cause that's what he always gets). No review needed. Disney nuggets and fries are Disney nuggets and fries.

The service was excellent and the experience was perfect for the birthday party.

We all got in trouble for something at some point during our meal...wearing a hat at the table, elbows on the table, talking with mouth full, eating the kid's food, asking for refills...I received three refills at once with the Cousin Cooper statement of "LEAVE - ME - ALONE".

At the end of our lunch, Cousin Cooper brought out a cupcake with candles for my DD and then announced to everyone in our section (I'm sure the whole restaurant heard) that it was my DD's birthday and made everyone sing. He also passed out a birthday card and asked everyone to sign it (which they did). I don't know if they do this for all birthdays, but, Cousin Cooper really liked the fact that the day we were there was my DD's "actual" birthday.

Because of this experience, we will have to include 50's to our dining "must do's" along with the oven-baked pepperoni pizza at Via Napoli and the Fish & Chips in England.

Cousin Cooper played the role very well and had a lot of fun with not only our table, but, the tables all around us. He really made our afternoon and gave us a great memory of our vacation.

p.s.
Can anyone remind me how to send a thank you to a Cast Member, or how to recognize them for a job well-done?

Hi, and thanks for your great review, we always head to 50's on our first full day. It's a must do for us. DH is always happy when I've booked it. I agree the malts are huge always enough for more than one, gosh now I want one!

We just did this a few weeks ago for my dd's birthday and we loved it as well. We had cousin Michael and he was the best server we have ever had. Funny, quick, helpful and sneaky~! He caught be texting a pic and pulled me off the table and had me sit with the next table lol. He also pulled my husband for doing something wrong (can't remember now) and sat him at the same table for a minute too. He did the same thing w/the cupcake, bday card, etc. We loved the food, atmosphere and when we go back we are going to ask for cousin michael..just hope he's working that day :)

Thanks for the review. We did 50's PTC for the first time last trip. Can't wait to do it again.

We were there in August and cousin Greg was awesome. He knew just which person to pick on for maximum entertainment. He also made great (and honest) food recommendations. The first time we went to 50s (2009) we had an okay waitress. She was a good waitress, but not totally in character so this was not on our must do list. We ended up going there because we wanted a sit-down meal before going to Fantasmic! and had a hard time getting reservations for 7 anywhere else. I am so glad we went!!! Cousin Greg made it such a great time.

Love Cousin Cooper!! We had him in June and it made the experience so much fun! He gave us explicit instructions on how to pour the milkshake without making a mess ("wipey, wipey!") and lectured me about texting under the table during family time :rotfl:

We went 2 years ago and had Cousin Cooper, he is the best!!!!
On our recent trip we had a server who was just that a server, don't even remember her name. If that had been our first time at 50's I don't think I would be going back. Knowing that was a one time deal, we will go back love PTC!!

Great review!!

When I went a few years ago, we had a blast! It was the best experience! I can't wait to take DS16 and my folks. I don't think I'll "warn" DS before hand about the "rules", I think I'll let him figure it out for himself. He'll go along with it once he figures it out.

We had Cousin Cooper last October and LOVED him! We got in "trouble" for not setting the table when he brought our silverware. When he brought DBF's milkshake he laid napkins all around it and said it was because he knew we wouldn't be any help cleaning it up. When I asked for a refill of iced tea he brought out three saying "he knew how iced tea drinkers are." :lmao:

This thread confirms how glad I am to have made last minute reservations for lunch there on the 24th!!! We were going to probably go to pizza planet then sci fi for dinner, but my brother mentioned how awesome 50's is!! Sooo glad I was able to get us in for lunch there! cant wait! :)
