We will be eating lunch at 50's Prime Time in HS for the first time in a couple weeks. I have read about this place being A LOT of fun. I have also read that you can get a waiter/waitress that are not very much "into" the antics and so your time there can be a big nothing as far as entertainment. What has been your experience??:surfweb:

I am interested in this as well. We leave for WDW in 2 days and we have a ADR for the 50's PTC and we have never been before. It looks like a lot of fun from what I have seen and read. We even watched some video's on youtube. My DH loves this kind of stuff and will play right into their hands. I hope we get a good character server. Enjoy. :cool1:

When checking in for your reservation, let them know that you want a "playful" server and you won't be disappointed.:thumbsup2 Our family loves this restaurant. I always have the meatloaf and DH has the pot roast. DD has a veggie burger.

WE LOVE IT HERE!!!!! We have eaten here the past three trips. We LOVE the food. Something for everyone and it's always been delicious. Atmosphere is always busy and packed, but we like the hustle and bustle and chatting with other guests. First two times our servers were funny and interactive. Last time it was super busy and our waiter had our table of 6, a table of 8 by us, and a booth of 8-10 across from us, so he was less interactive, but a great server non-the-less. We never leave hungry....always on DDP, so we get more than enough. If you have any specific questions, as away! Would love to help! You did make the right choice to eat here! Plus, it is a perfect break in the AC!

It kind of depends upon the server. Some are more fun than others. The food is (cracker barrel). Our first 2 or 3 visits, our servers were great. Our last visit, we were kind of tired, and it probably showed to our server. There was a large table next to ours with lots of small children and our server hovered over that table the entire time, and barely gave us the time of day. It was really no big deal, other than the fact that we wanted refills of drinks and didn't get'em until we were ready to leave.

One of my fav. places to eat. Love the pot roast. DH loves the fried chicken. We have experienced both types of servers, but the more "in character" ones seem to be the norm. We have only had one that did not really do much with her tables. If you have a good sense of humor, this place is soo much fun!

This seems like very important information. Appreciate it. We will be celebrating the birthdays of both my DH (50 yrs!) and our DS (11 yrs!).....so the more antics...the better. We are definitely a family that would really, really enjoy a humorous server!:surfweb:

This is one of our favorites too! We have been very fortunate to always have a great waiter/waitress. Every visit its always different, but always fun. And I too love the pot roast. Great milk shakes too.

Did not know you could request a 'type' of server. When we went, our server was great at getting us food, but not at all in the spirit of the restaurant. The table next to us had a really fun person waiting on them- it just made us feel left out of the fun.

We have been to the 50's several times and always loved it! I do miss the boursin cheese app, and the smoked trout dip app though. I do have a question. I have never had the chicken pot pie. Has anyone tried it? What did you think?

I don't know if Lookili is still there, but he waited on us in 08,09 and 10--we requested him after the first time. If you get him you won't be disappointed!

We went last week and had a blast. I got 'yelled' at to set the table within 2 minutes of sitting down lol. We had a great server and really enjoyed our experience. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Ok!! Excellent!! This is exactly what we're hoping for!! Thanks! Glad you had fun!:surfweb:

We were so worried about this because we don't like being annoyed while eating so we avoided this place like the Black Plague every year. We decided that we'd give it a shot last year and we loved it! It's going on our "must do" list from now on.

Wow! "Must do"...awesome!

We love the place and they have great gluten free chicken for any who miss fried chicken :cool1:

I have been to 50's Prime Time Cafe multiple times for both lunch and dinner, well each time I was lucky to get a server that was very much into their character and that the experience even better.

When it comes to their food if I am there during lunch I always order their Fish Sandwich since that's the only time it's available. If I am there during dinner then I order their Meatloaf, well both items tasted great.

We went for lunch once and were totally unimpressed. Didn't see any "antics" at our table or any of the tables around ours. Food was just about the worst I've had a WDW. It's one of only maybe two places I will not go back to at the world.

We went there for lunch and made the mistake of not preparing our 5 & 6 year olds for the atmosphere. We all got yelled at pretty quickly--elbows on the table before ordering, that sort of thing--and it freaked the girls out. :rotfl2:

They got into it eventually, but it scared the crap out of them at first. I should have warned them.

We ate there last summer and had a great time. I was a little worried because I thought DH would be resistant to the antics, but the server totally reads the customers. My FIL played along with her, so he was really the only one she messed with. We thought the food was great. I had the fried chicken and DH had salmon (and part of my chicken because it was a ton of food).
