What were your experiences at 50's PT? I have eaten at Prime Time 3 times. The first time, just DH and me, was great! Lots of interaction and auntie wouldn't let DH order a burger and shake (said he'd never finish his meal if he had the shake first). Cute! We loved it. The next time I brought my DGDs there and our waiter was just a waiter...no playfulness at all. We watched it around us, but weren't a part of it. I figured it was a new server and that was that. Last year we went there with my DHs brother and wife. Same thing. We were seated in a back room and the three other tables were filled with WDW big wigs conducting business and the waitress was just a waitress. Very disappointing for us as we watched the other rooms having so much fun. So, three strikes and they're out. I'm not making PS there for our next trip.

Seems like the experience depends on the talent of the wait staff. When I went, even before my meal arrived, I was ready to get the heck out of there.

The place got roudy and out of control. The atmosphere was that of a mad tavern's! And then there were rambunctious little kids screaming and pestering at leisure, where the parents though they had the right to bother anyone during their vacations...

It was easy to push our waiter's buttons but there was a fine line between "mama's instructions" and being plain rude. It is not easy to play those gimmicks without offending or leading to anarchy, I suppose. Not every young kid working for tips is talented enough to wait there.

Bottomline, my ears were ringing by the timne we finally got out of that hideous place, the food was overpriced and I swore I'd never return.

My husband and I went in april/may of 2001 and the waiter was great(play acting and ect.). Also there was not a lot of children when we were there so is was a peaceful dinning experience.
We enjoyed ourselves so much that I made a ps for this dec. and we are taking my sister. :)

For December trip for lunch::yes:: Have always had good time at PTC.Like the interaction with CM'S with us and others:wave2: I guess it can get a little rowdy sometimes:upsidedowOver the years we have had great meals and entertainment at the PTC. :duck:

Never been there. Always wondered what it would be like.

We're trying it out next Saturday for DD's birthday supper (her choice). We're hoping for an annoyingly good time. :) I'll be sure to post a review!

We had a great time here! Our 'Uncle' asked how college was going, since he hadn't seen us since we left home. THen he made us wash our hands, and we were sitting at the table when he shouted over 'If you kids would set the table, Mom might feed you!' As soon as we did, our food came out. It was actually a pretty good meal, even though my boyfriend wasn't happy about having to take his hat off:D

We have eaten there 3 times and have always had a lot of fun. We had my younger DS's 11 birthday there and our waiter sent a table of teen girls over to bring him his cupcake and sing Happy Birthday. It was perfect! We are going again at Christmas time on older DS's 14th birthday. Hopefully it will be as good as our other experiences there! Prime Time has become a "must do" for us!

Just made a PS for an early dinner in December. Had a great dinner there 2 years ago, and am hoping that the pot roast is as good as it was then (I am making their pot roast tonight, but even though I have the recipe, theirs is better).

We ate there for the first time this past Aug. We had a great time Cousin LIda was great and the room we were in had great waitresses who had a lot of fun. My sons were laughing throughout the entire meal. They even thanked us for taking them there and they are 13 and 18.

I always have a great time there. I try so hard to get everyone in my family in trouble.... DH got a scolding from our "cousin" when he implied "Mom" has a drinking problem...::yes::
I did get one "cousin" once who talked my ear off......:chat:
slow day I guess.

It always help to play with them as my family likes to do. (See my moms, perdidobay, post above) I tried to get my sis in trouble by throwing something at her knowing she would throw something back. However, the waitress saw me do it and not her. They made me stand in a corner while everyone yelled "dont be a brat"

we only ate there once and I thought the food was ok, our waitress was boring but we were with another family who had to sit at the next table over and their waitress was fun (not rude at all, just funny) and included us so it was nice. I don't remember it being particularly noisy. I do remember our friends loved their burgers and milkshakes but almost fainted when they got their bill! (those prices are real on the menu!)

On our first trip we had great food, but a boring waitress. She was fairly young and just not into plyaing the role. However we lucked up when the server next to us bumped inot DD's highchair. We had a blast with him.

Fast forward 2 yrs and we decided to return. We had Spence (Spencer?) who was wonderful. It was 8 of us all together, including my sisters boyfriend, who non of us had met unitl that day. Turned into a great way to see if he was a good sport (which he was). DS kept getting in trouble for putting his elbows on the table. DM got a pass on her elbows, because Spence gave her a kids menu to color. DS also had to set the table because he was making fun of DD and DNi because they were first told to set the table.
The meatloaf and pot roast were the biggest hits at our table.

We have also had a great experience and a good experience. The great experience started out poorly until we started to act like misbehaved cousins. Then mom was called and we got a stern talking to.

Speak to your Aunt (hostess) when you arrive, quietly if possible and tell her about your previous experiences and you would like a more personable waiter. Your paying you should get what you want. Howevr, be prepared, I'm willing to bet your going to be made an example of.

Your experience always depends on the server. Our last visit in July was okay, but we didn't get as much attention from our older brother as usual. The two trips before that were wonderful! Every time but the last, we seem to get attention, probably because we love to play along. I'll admit to being something of a ham... Just like other Disney experiences, every cast member is different. There is one waiter, who we've never actually had the pleasure of his service, who remembered us in July from being there before. He kept telling everyone in the restaurant that I had a crush on him! That's a fantastic cast member!

We ate here for the first time this past June and loved it::yes:: Cousin Christopher was hysterical:laughing: We really enjoyed the food:p Everybody voted this a "must do" for our next trip!

Hello Ncbyrne!! We did a Ill. cruise a couple years back together. My former board name was Roger Rabbitt. We have done 50's about 5 times now. It really does depend on your frame of mind and your servers. Go with the flow, and things can be pretty fun I say. The smores are still are fav. when we visit!!

Hi Badger Brent! Oh my, what fond memories we have of the Illuminations cruise with all the DISers. And the DIS meet on the boardwalk afterwards! It's fun to look back at the photos. My greatest memory is watching the Tapestry of Nations Parade from the boat! Boy, I sure miss that parade. Our next trip is May 2-12 (just DH and I again this time) and we were thinking about doing the cruise again. Still not sure if we'll consider trying 50's Prime Time again though.
