We liked the look of this restaurant (thought the children would like it) but have decided against it - I am sure I would laugh at some of the antics of the waiters if they were telling someone else off but think I would have a fit if they picked on me - shame though.

we love it here, and my oh is soooo shy! lol. they do tend to leave you alone if you dont really want to join in and there is always plenty of other families that want to get involved that you can watch and laugh at. The food is great as well and is strangly the only place that my oh does eat all his greens at lol! its great fun and i am sure the kids would love it, i throughly recomed the milkshakes :thumbsup2

I really want to but out of the 8 of us, only 1 enjoys the limelight ... he is the sort who puts his hand up to be picked out of an audience while I am hiding under the table! Am quite disappointed though

I'm also not the kind of person that likes to be picked on but I wanted the family to experience this type of restaurant as I thought it would add to the holiday. I mean, how many restaurants are like this anymore.

So of course I got picked on to eat my green beans, 'choo choo train' style and yes she did announce to the whole restaurant that I didn't eat my greens and everyone in the restaurant did turn to watch me but I laughed and ate them and everyone applauded and I no longer felt like an idiot because we were all there for the same experience.

I personally would go, the food may not be 5* but you go for the experience plus you're not likely to see anyone again so your embarrassment will be very short lived!

I'm glad I did it, will I do it again, hell yeah!

My motto - try everything once!

This is one of my fav places to eat in the world: pot roast to die for, very berry smoothies YUM, such a cool retro vibe, and honestly the taunting is much more gentle than its rep would have you believe. You would have to lay the table, elbows off the table maybe, ok occasionally there is more but on the whole its reputation is scarier than the reality, and it is fun not humiliating i promise, go and try!!

It's such a fun restaurant. We've been twice now and wouldn't hesitate to go again. The pot roast is indeed yummy!!!
As for being told off, well, just play along, you'll have fun

We've been here twice, we love it! The servers tend to be able to spot the people who want to be "picked on", so you'd probably be OK!

We went earlier this month and found the teasing to be very gentle and it was great fun :goodvibes

The food was good too :thumbsup2

We thought the antics were great, and wish we'd been picked on more! The food wasn't the greatest (seemed rushed out, my bf's roasted pepper was more microwaved then stuck under a grill for a few minutes!) but the atmosphere was fab :goodvibes

We ate here for the first time recently and had a great time. My youngest had to run quite a few errands for our server but most of the "picking-on" was aimed at a boy on another table who was totally up for it. IMO it's definitely all done in fun, nothing that would make anyone feel uncomfortable.

I had the post roast too .......... mmmm :goodvibes

I love this restaurant! Even if they did try to force feed me the remaining green beans on my plate :lmao: I stood my ground and didn't eat them though! Was absolutely bright red at the time, but mainly through laughing so hard with my mouth shut because I knew if I opened just a smidgen, those beans would be in!

There was a guy at the table next to us who wasn't really up for joining in. Our server tried to make him do 'I'm a little teapot', but he wasn't having it, but one family who was leaving were up for it, so the guy from that family did the whole song and dance routine in the middle of our little section! :rotfl:

There was, however, one family that did very much spoil it for us, a few other tables, and it wasn't actually a family that weren't up for it, but the opposite and were too up for it. They had blatantly been before, and were just playing up far too much. That spoiled it a little. But there were families who wanted to join in, and got picked on, and those that didn't want to join in who were reasonably left to their own devices!

All I will say though, is if you do ever visit, just remember your table etiquette and manners! ;)

We eat there at least once every holiday. I LOVE the milkshake!!!!!! Totally to die for..... The thickest shake you'll ever have.... We also love the interaction. It's all in fun. Last time I was there was when I took my sister there for the first time. I knew she'd enjoy it so I asked at the sign-in desk to be sure to give me a very active server ( some are more than others) .... Ours was great... She really played it up for my sister , who had a great time!!

I forgot to mention... If you go there during free dining and you order the milkshake as your drink, you can also get a softdrink for free. That's because the milkshake isn't bottomless, so they let you also order a bottomless drink when on the dining plan
