50's Cafe closed from January 20 to Feb 2, 2008

I just called to make our ADR's for January/Feb and wasn't able to make the 50's Cafe when I wanted because "Teddy" said it would be closed from January 20 to Feb 2.

This has caused me to have to do a bit of rework in our plans because we don't want to do too much park hopping for meals (wasting time) and we had only planned 1 day at MGM Studios.....wahhhhhhhh

So...I thought I'd pass it on as I haven't seen it on any of the refurb/closed lists anywhere....though obviously I may have missed it!


But....the good news....we got Cinderella's Castle for dinner without any problem....I told her we'd take any time she had available and she started naming off almost every 10 minutes, lol. Of course, we did dinner, not breakfast, so maybe that's the one that is so impossible to get? Whew....now I just have to wait a few days and call back and get the second half of our trip.

Thanks for posting. We'll be there that timeframe, so now we know not to make an ADR there. We leave on Feb. 2, so maybe it will open earlier and we can grab a meal there, if not, no big deal....always the next trip.

We'll be there from January 13 to Feb 9....so our 180 days was today (1/17) and they let me make reservations for 10 days.

If you're arriving on January 20, then starting on July 24 you will be able to make reservations for January 20 to January 30.

Teddy tried to make the 11th day but the system wouldn't let her. I could call back tomorrow and make day 11, then the next day and make day 12, etc....but I think I'll just wait until next week when my Le Cellier is 10 days away.

I got everything I wanted, and as I said, I was given choices for times for everything....I kinda figured it would be easy for most of them, but reading these boards had me in a panic for Cinderella's Castle....but either January isn't going to be a big deal, or because I'm doing dinner instead of breakfast...not sure which, just relieved it's over, lol.

Wow, that's going to be a great vacation for you. We love january. The crowds are small with the exception of Marathon Weekend and MLK. The weather has been real good to us the past couple of years and I am hoping that will continue.

I've got my list and will patiently wait until tuesday morning. I don't think I will have a problem at this time of year, but who knows.

No, you didn't miss it. It was just announced today. Also announced is that Tony's Town Square Restaurant will be closed January 5th through the 27th.

Wow, that's going to be a great vacation for you. We love january. The crowds are small with the exception of Marathon Weekend and MLK. The weather has been real good to us the past couple of years and I am hoping that will continue.

I've got my list and will patiently wait until tuesday morning. I don't think I will have a problem at this time of year, but who knows.

The low crowds are a big part of our decision to go in January....that and we're in Phoenix and the Super Bowl will be HERE on Feb 3....and the parties and road closures and crowds and everything else that I don't want to be here for, lol...so the football world is coming here and we're leaving!

We'll arrive the day after the Marathon, so I know there may be some who stay the week after the run, but from what I've read most come the week before for all the pre-parties and events, so I'm hoping to see them all at the airport leaving as I arrive

MLK weekend, we have mostly resort and offsite things planned, but on Monday there are rumors (and the calendar makes it look like they're more than rumors) it appears that a Pirates & Princess Party will happen.....I'm still trying to decide if I want to go that holiday Monday night or the following Saturday. I can't decide which crowd will be worse! I'm leaning towards MLK because I'm thinking since most people will have to go back to work/school the next day, they won't want to stay out as late as P&P runs....but on a Saturday, they'll chose that instead because the late night won't affect work/school? There is rumored to be another P&P on 2/4...but that's Mardis Gras week, and from this board it looks like half of New Orleans will be here!

Anyone have thoughts on that?
