50mm @ WDW?

I agree that 50mm is a little tight. For me, it seems to short to be a long lens, and too long to be a short lens. So if you were looking to buy a prime, I'd encourage you to consider a 30mm instead. BUT..... given that you have the opportunity to borrow one....... you can't beat it! :yay: I think that having a prime will give you the opportunity to think creatively and you might grow to like that length like so many others here.

I have the T2i, and I want to encourage you to not be afraid of going as high as 3200 ISO. I shot the MSEP and Chrismtas parade and 3200 and was very happy with the results. I used Lightroom 3 to deal with the noise and was quite happy. Heck, I even went as high as 6400 when I was too lazy to swap off my 2.8 lens in favor of the 1.4. Just shoot in RAW and you'll have a lot of latitude to address issues in post processing.

Enjoy! And be sure to post back here with some of your results!

Thank you all so much for your input! I do want a 30mm, and that may end up being what i get. Since I get to borrow this one though, i'll save my money for vacation spending. ;)
I am finding that the 50mm is really tight. I used it this weekend, and its a huge adjustment.
I'm also finding that I can't get my camera to actually take a shot if it's super dark with no flash (and sometimes with a flash). Anyone have an idea why that is?
Is it just typical or could there be something i need to change?
I shoot in manual a lot, but when i use it with my toddler i just use AV.
I love learning something new!

It cannot get a focus lock. There is probably a setting to allow the shutter to fire without a focus lock. There is also manual focus. Sometimes that is required in really dark situations.

the 1.8 is a great lens, very fast too.
only downside is on a cropped body it's around 85mm instead of 50.

Taken with a Sigma 50mm f/1.4
