Hi all,
Firstly we never ment to cause any upset at all by our posting earlyer on this board. We are a christian family and we just thought it would be nice to meet up with a like minded family whilst on our holiday of a life time.(for us) in Disney world. However as we are a real Scottish family we are welcoming to ALL. Andrena and I and the kids would be delighted to meat anyone and to share some time with at the Disney Parks (well within reason!!) As first timers to Disney we will be the family looking rather peely wally!! (ie pale and fair skinned due to the lack of decent sunshine in Scotland) and lost spending most of our time going wal! taking it all in. We therefore would appreciate any friendly and welcoming Americans or come to think of it any nationality to assist us.
We were astounded that the interest and debate we have started when all we wanted to do was to meet up with a like minded family.
As for ourselves I am a manger of a learning disability home care sevice supporting people with a learning disability to live in their own homes in the community. I am an avid football (soccer) fan of Rangers football club. My wife is a nurse working on our local hospital. Abigail 8 is rather shy but would appreciate meeting children of her own age and Adam who will have his 6th birthday on the 30th of May (Memorial Day)(Any ideas what to do for his birthday?) is a young man full of energy with a fantastic smile (just like his dad!!) We are staying at the Bahama Bay Resort in Davenport near Kissimee which by all accounts looks great.
We hope that ALL that go to Disney on holiday this year have a great time and if you are in the Parks over May 20th to 3rd June say high to us we will be wearing something Scottish ie T-shirts with our national flag on it.
God Bless ALL
Andrew, Andrena, Abigail and Adam the 4 A's

Andrew, I pm'd you. As stated there, my husband and I would love to meet your family.

So glad you posted again!! I understood your post, and your questions!

I do hope you have a magical time :wizard: I hope you will continue to post and ask questions!!

:cheer2:
You and your wife have a busy life! Thank you for sharing!! Your children will be overwhelmed, and love the vacation you are planning for them!!

(I am also astounded at the debate that grew in the other thread! But, I am glad you are continuing to post!!)

I won't be there then, but wanted to wish you a great trip to Disney and I hope you have lots of pixie dust during your holiday! :wizard:

Hey, don't worry about being "peely wally". I'm sure we could give you a run for your money in that department! We're a family of blond haired, blued eyed, pale skinned people - and we believe in HUGE amounts of sunscreen lotion. :sunny:

I seriously hope you have a fabulous time and I hope you get the chance to meet many wonderful people - from all religions and walks of life.

Enjoy your special vacation. :flower: Be sure to post a few pictures when you get back.

I'm sorry I'm not going to be down there at that time. It sounds like you have an amazing family. I wish you all the best, and hope you have a wonderful time.

We'd love to meet you. Won't have our grands with us, so no play time for your kids, but since we are planning a trip to Scotland, I'd love to talk about your homeland. We're staying at POR inside Disney, and in fact are the Dis stroller sitters for that week, and if anyone has need of a stroller that week, be sure to sign up and we'll get it over to you.

I'd love to exchange Church greeting material with you, if you have some you give out to visitors. I'm always interested in what other Nazarene Churches hand out to their first time visitors, and especially from another country. If interested, I'll bring a packet of ours. And of course I'm interested in if our church services are the same, and I'll bring along a church bulletin as well.

If you decide to meet in one central place, let me know (we'll be there May 17-24th), and we'll show up. I'll be happy to PM our cell phone number, if you think you'd like to wait until you are there, to decide where to meet. Just let me know.

Thanks for reposting.

Noooo :sad2: boo!

Just kidding.. but I am a Celtic fan!! :teeth:

I hope you and your family have a great time at WDW!! I will be there at the same time and if I see you in your Rangers kit I will just ignore you. Kidding!

Might I recommend stocking up on some Irn-Bru and Wham bars before coming over? We don't have those lovely things here (the importation of Irn-Bru is actualy illegal here now) and I miss them so!! :3dglasses

My DH and I, along with our DS2 would love to meet up with you. We will be arriving on the 19th!

Although we will not be there when your family is I wanted to wish you a magical trip. I hope you have a wonderful time! :wave2: :wave2:

Two things: water and sun screen! Drink lots of water and use plenty of sunscreen when out in the FLA sun.

My DH and I went to Scotland years ago before we had kids and still talk about all the time. Such a beautiful country and everyone we met was so friendly!

Have a great trip.

We don't arrive until late on 5/22, can the meet be set for the 23rd (my 25th anniversary), or early the 24th before DMRick departs?

I am sooo glad you're back, too. I always hope that my posts would get the number of responses that yours did, just not the flavor!! :sunny: I hope you and your family have a wonderful time!!

To the 4 A's........

I won't be there at the same time as you but I'm a fellow Scot DISer and I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful holiday. It's your first trip isn't it? It's always magical.

I've been more than 10 times so even though I'm from your neck of the woods, I feel like a veteran. We usually stay offsite at a villa but due to some family health issues this trip was cancelled and I have made my own plans to go to WDW by myself this summer. How's that for an adventure!

Hope to see you post some more between now and your trip. Any questions, just fire away!

Louise

********
The 23rd we're planning on Epcot after a lunch in Rainforest AK, and the 24th, we'll be around the pool at POR in the morning, and either resort hopping or DTD for the afternoon, if anyone wants to meet. Congrats on the anniversary!

Won't be there until oct! Sorry to miss you but I hope you have a very magical trip!

Thanks for the congrats. We have late ressies at Le Cellier on Monday, 23rd, so Epcot would work perfect. Or, the 24th at DTD, maybe Ghirardellis for ice cream or Earl of Sandwich. I'm open. 50bear, how about you?

So glad to see you're still around 50bear!! We aren't going to be in WDW til July. Have a wonderful, blessed trip! It is a dream of mine to one day tour Scotland :)

Awww, you are sweet! :)
You didn't have to defend yourselves! Some people overreact to everything. I am not a Christian and I was not offended in any way by your original post! Wanting to meet like-minded families is totally understandable! As long as you are willing to give those different from yourselves a chance once in a while (which clearly you are), it is perfectly fine to reserve other times for people you have much in common with. WE ALL DO IT! ::MickeyMo
I think you have shown a lot of class with this new post. :wizard: Best of luck to you on your vacation...I wish we were going so soon, but alas, we must wait for November! ;)
