They are April 2021 points so I will probably use them in the future or possibly bank them. Although I´m not sure if I can bank transferred points.

Yes, transferred points can be banked....just not borrowed. You must call to do it.

My thought exactly...if the room is available 30-60 days out, why not let us borrow to use. It means our points won't be available next year and leaves room for others that year.

Yours is a reasonable suggestion however do you think the premium villas are going unused, There is going to be a lot of breakage because of this policy and those rooms will be available for CASH not points. What I thought should have been done is cancel a years worth of points and not charge a year's MF's I expect that the 50% rule will be with DVC forever as it will increase breakage and serve as a incentive to buy more points direct from Disney for DVC'ers with a small point holding.

I think because there was no change to banking, a lot of rooms are being booked up by owners with extra points.

They also did use their own points to give to owners to replace the banked points that expired in 2020 due to closure,

The breakage is being caused by DVC owners unable to travel to MCO due to their state's restrictions not that Disney is doing anything to cause breakage except of course for the usual since 2015 all rooms 59 days and under out seem to go into breakage so short notice DVC getaways had become impossible since then,
