5 things that make you choke up

5) Okay...remember that ad a few years ago, with the little girl, goes all over the MK, and gets gloomier and sadder, and it's the end of the day, she has her head down - looking super sad..and these black shoes come into view..and the camera pans up..it's Mickey...pan back to little girl's face - look of awe..and she utters the words "I've been waiting my whole life to meet You." See I'm tearing up now...I'm a sap.
:ccat:

Yeah that one always makes me blubber like an idiot.

1. My big one was watching my DD get her very first haircut in the barber shop on Main Street. They do such a wonderful job. Have her special first hair cut ears tucked away, plus some of the pixie dust they sprinkled on her head. princess:

2. Anytime we see Mickey! Especially watching the expressions on DS and DD face.

3. Wishes

4. Having to go home :sad1:

1. Fantasmic
2. The American Adventure
3. Seeing a character interact with a special needs person
4. Watching Top 7 Must Sees & WDW Today when we first get to the room and unpack our suitcases
5. This is from my mom: When checking in and the CM says "welcome home"

1. Seeing Mickey for the first time on the trip (especially last year when it was our first trip as a family, I cried like a baby and Mickey comforted me!)
seeing Mickey and his smiling face does it for me! I know I am at WDW and away from the stress of real life and for one short week, all will be well and wonderful!

2. The castle...gosh, each time I see it, I am instantly back in 1976 and an 8 year old seeing Disney for the first time with my beloved Grandpa at my side. Seriously, is anything nicer than seeing the castle for the first time?

3. The statue of Mickey & Walt...my DS & DH posed just like Mickey & Walt 12 years ago when she was a toddler and they did the same last year and will do it this October when we go back. So sweet to see how much a daddy loves his daughter and vice-versa and so cute to see them posed like their hero, Walt.

4. Splash Mountain...I love "Song of the South", so this ride gets me all weepy and happy. Reminds me of my dad singing "Zippidy Doo Da" to me when I was a kid.

5. When Mickey waves goodbye at the front of the park at night...man, I cry like a hallmark commercial!

I am a cynical, bleeding heart, sarcastic liberal...but the minute I step foot on WDW property, I am just a little 8 year old girl, mystified by my surroundings and soaking it all in. The memories of easy days come rushing back, and all is well.

1. Seeing the enterance of MK. That always gets me. I just remember growing up going to DLR and that always made me feel like home...and filled with so much magic.

2. Walking through MSUSA. It just reminds me of home.

3. Seeing my favorite character, Donald Duck, and being able to hug him.

4. Seeing Cinderella's Castle...so beautiful.

5. Riding on a classic ride, which got me last time was Peter Pan's Flight. I cried throuhgout the entire ride last time...but that was the last ride before DH and I had to go back home.

Believe me, there is a lot more stuff that gets me chocked up and crying like a baby...but this is only a top five list.

1) The "True Colors" slideshow before Honey I Shrunk the Audience.

2) I used to tear up when Esmeralda sang "God Help the Outcasts" in the Hunchback show in MGM. Now I tear up because the show's not there anymore.

1) Illuminations
2) Wishes
3) Sitting on the beach at the polynesian at sunset
4) Finishing the 18th hole and knowing I don't have time to play another 18
5) Seeing "One Mans Dream"

1.) Going on Splash Mountain for the first time in the trip
2.) Carousel of Progress (boy was I mad when I couldnt go on it this trip)
3.) American Adventure (at the end when Golden Dream comes on lol)
4.) Leaving!
5.) Unpacking when we get home :guilty:

Here's Mine - as many others:

  1. Any Wishes presentation at MK
  2. The end of Fantasmic as Mickey "wins"
  3. Soarin'
  4. Our last late night at MK as we walk up Main Street
  5. Whenever I share with a CM or other guest about our family's unique WDW history and making joy out of sorrow and pixiedust out of tragedy.

Oooh, there are lots.

-Main Street, pretty much anytime of the day and anytime of the trip ;)

-Wishes, big time

-Walking into the AKL

-First and last Monorail ride of the trip

-Beginning of POC before the drop

-When I'm on Spaceship Earth, don't know why but it always happens

Wow -- just reading these responses get me choked up!

Here are some of mine . . .

1) Wishes while Tinker Bell floats down from the Castle

2) Seeing the entrance sign while riding to the Magic Kingdom

3) Walking into The Emporium after peeking down Main Street to get a glimpse of the Castle.

4) My quiet prayer time with God while sitting in the garden at EPCOT's UK.

5) Sitting outside of Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, watching the people and the ducks, while having some more quiet God time.

Ahhh -- the magic of Disney.

Melomouse, would it too personal for me to ask you about your story?
Only share if you feel led to, I hope I'm not over stepping any boundaries or sounding pushy. God Bless!

1. Approaching the Walt Disney World sign.
2. The lobby of the Wilderness Lodge.
3 Hearing the train whistle as I approach the Magic Kingdom.
4. Spectromagic and/or Electric Light Parade
5. Illuminations and Wishes

Just thinking about that one gets me, too!

Wishes
The song at the end of the American Adventure
Beauty and the Beast
Spectromagic
Festival of the Lion King

Only 5?????

1.) Going under the Walt Disney World sign on the highway
2.) First walk up Main Street, USA
3.) Simba's first roar in Festival of the Lion King
4.) The first hyperspace jump in Star Tours
5.) The entire Muppetvision area (especially the hidden Mouseketeer! I always tear up when I see that, the picture of Jim, and walking into the Muppet theater itself).

oh, i definitely tear up at a lot, so here's my five...

1. walking through the castle and seeing cinderella's carousel
2. festival of the lion king
3. voyage of the little mermaid
4. seeing my first character and giving them a big hug :goodvibes
5. our final wakeup call. hearing stitch and mickey for the last time

What a wonderful thread :) I can't wait to come up with our own top five!

1. Arriving. Sometimes it's the arch that gets me. Sometimes it's the billboards that change images. We don't have those where I live and the first time I went to WDW, my brother and I thought they were the coolest thing. Now when I see them, I know I'm getting close.

2. The beginning of SpectroMagic - I've never been a big fan of parades, but I always watch this one because it's my mom's favorite part of WDW. I recently heard a snippit of SpectroMagic music on a Travel Channel WDW special on it made me tear up. I really wasn't expecting that!

3. The part in Wishes when Aladdin wishes for Genie's freedom - It's the only wish that a character (in the context of Wishes, anyway) makes for someone else.

4. The movie montage at the end of The Great Movie Ride.

5. My last ride on ToT of the trip.
