Take your music player - iPod, Zune, Sansa... whatever and put it on shuffle or random. Then post the FIRST FIVE that get played. You can't skip songs just because they are embarrassing. Tell us why they are in or on your player.

1. Drift Away - Dobie Gray..... I'm a 70's music nut. Have never played it at an event ( as a DJ ) and probably never will, but I always have a great time listening to it.

2. Fooled Around And Fell in Love - Elvin Bishop.... sort of the same as above, but the actual song rings true for me.

3. Make a Good Gumbo - Tab Benoit and Amanda Shaw..... cajun music. My family and I saw an IMAX movie about Hurricane Katrina. They sold this CD in the store as you left the theater. I love Cajun music.

4.Sexbomb - Tom Jones.... probably because I think Tom Jones is one of the coolest dudes in music. It is 2008 and this cat still wears a leisure suit!

5. Hey Mister! ( She Was My Baby Last Night ) - Candye Kane ..... A swing song. A fun song. A song about lesbian lovers. What more can ya ask for?

Take a chance on me....ABBA
I love ABBA! It reminds me of road trips growing up.

Umbrella..........Rihanna
I think it's a fun catchy song. makes me smile

fishin in the dark.......Nitty gritty dirt band
This was one of my all time favorite songs. I just feel good and have to sing along.

pour some sugar on me........def lepard
what can I say, i grew up in the era of hair bands and def lepard is my favorite!

Think of me......Phantom of the Opera soundtrack
I love this movie!!!

I like a little of everything except rap.

2. Fooled Around And Fell in Love - Elvin Bishop.... sort of the same as above, but the actual song rings true for me.
Does your wife know you've been through a million girls?:worship:

1. Young Girl - Gary Puckett and the Union Gap
A song I remember them playing at the Ice Rink when I was in elementary school - still love it even though now I think it's kinda pervy.

2. Peaceful Easy Feeling - The Eagles
Favorite Eagles song ever!

3. I Just Can't Wait To Be King
Something Disney, of course.

4. Fooled Around and Fell in Love
I'm not kidding, this truly came up!

5. Wildfire - Michael Martin Murphy
I guess my choices skew to the 70s, but I swear I have other decades represented, too.

LOL, that is cool and funny! :thumbsup2

1. My Own Way (Night Version) -- Duran Duran
They are one of my favorite bands. I have nearly everything they've ever done and most of it is on my iPod.

2. I Know You're out there Somewhere -- Moody Blues
Always liked the song well enough. I have their Greatest Hits CD and this was on it.

3. Lovesong -- The Cure
Not a huge Cure fan. But I do like this one. No big story here either.

Uh-oh

4. My only Wish -- Britney Spears

Ok this one DOES require an explanation. :lmao: This is from the "Now that's What I Call Christmas" CD. I bought it for a few songs -- this would not be one them. At first I only loaded the songs I liked onto iTunes. Then a few weeks ago a friend calls asking if I have any Christmas music. Her son was bugging her for some and she couldn't find her Christmas CDs. So I put both discs into iTunes and burned her a copy. And thanks for the reminder that I can now remove it! :lmao: :rotfl2:

5. Still in Your Heart -- The Power Station.

Half of which was made up of guys from Duran Duran, including John  . Nuff said. :)

Drift Away by Dobie Gray is one of my all time favorite songs! :goodvibes It's on my iPod as well.

Ok, my five are:

Brandi Carlile - Scarlett Tide
Indigo Girls - World Falls
Indtil dig igen - Lis Sørensen (great song if you know Danish!)
Indigo Girls - Pendulum Swinger
Brandi Carlile - Late Morning Lullaby

Pretty in Pink by Psychadelic Furs - loved the movie, rented it a zillion times before finally buying a used copy from the video store (this was back when new videos were $100!)

Super Mario Bros theme by Momus Trombone Quartet - my sons play trombone and one of them bought this album from iTunes...I like it!

Marrakesh Express by Crosby, Stills and Nash - my older sisters listened to this group and so I heard this a lot growing up

You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch) by Bruce Springsteen - Bruce...what can I say?

Big Shot by English Beat - love, love, love English Beat

Justin Lo & Kary Ng - "Everyday" - Yes, the same "Everyday" from High School Musical 2... but in Cantonese! I barely speak it anymore, but this song is so pretty.

Evan Rachel Wood - "Blackbird" - I knew watching "Across the Universe" that I'd love the soundtrack, and I did. This isn't my favorite, but still awesome. I didn't think ERW would sing well at all.

Al Gore & Santa Clause - "Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Christmas'" - Ooookay. I didn't realize I still had Christmas music on my iPod. It sounds weird but it's hilarious. It's from a compilation CD from Kevin & Bean, some radio show hosts from a local station. (106.7 KROQ)

Lily Allen - "Alfie" - I don't like Lily Allen much, but my sister sent me this song and it's boppy and cute. In the song, the singer is trying to reach out to her pot-smoking brother. :rotfl:

Fall Out Boy - "I'm Like a Lawyer With the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me and You)" - Despite the long and obscenely hilarious title, (which Fall Out Boy is pretty known for) this song is really ballad-ish and nice.

1~ Didn't I blow your mind New Kids On the Block

2~Not Falling Apart Maroon 5

I think mine with show how eclectic my tastes are:

1. Carl Orff, Carmina Burana, Blanziflor et Helena Everyone has heard "O Fortuna" from this masterwork in commercials. Blanziflor et Helena is from the "In Taverna" portion of the piece, which is sometimes eliminated from public performance.
2. Slap and Tickle, Squeeze, 45's and Under (every album of theirs is on my iPod)
3. Somebody to Love, Anne Hathaway, Ella Enchanted (she's got a great voice and I love her acting)
4. Free Form Guitar, Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority. Nothing like some good jazz/blues to start your day!
5. I Was Blown Away, Pam Tillis, Sweetheart's Dance (one of those songs that pulls you out of a bad mood)

Bonus songs:
I Wonder, Robert Cray, Strong Persuader. Blues his the mainstream
The Work Song, the Disney Chorus, Classic Disney Vol 1.
What Part of No, Debbie Gibson, MYOB (hometown girl makes good)
The Entertainer, Billy Joel, Greatest Hits (LI boy)
Down on My Knees, Trisha Yearwood, Hearts in Armor (GREAT album)
River, Sarah McLochlan, Wintersong
