5 people at WOC on 4 FPs

So, on Tuesday, DH and I pulled blue FP for the 9p show and then were joined by our two friends AND wanted to switch to the 10p show. We talked to a helpful CM that said as long as our group was together we would have no problem with four of us using the two FP for the 10p show. And, we didn't. Honestly, the CM didn't even look at them. We handed them over and walked in. I can't say that would work for everyone and perhaps it was simpler because the 10p show was obviously less crowded and it didn't matter as much. But, that was our experience.

Do they not let you hang on to your Fastpass? I recall in the past going in, finding a spot, leaving my child there with our spot while I went to find food. I know I had to have a FP to get back in. This was for the earlier show, so there was plenty of time to leave and come back with snacks. Maybe I has to ask a CM for a FP to get back in? It's been too long.... I can't remember.

My experience is that if you're really nice and unassuming, they will be happy to accommodate you as long as it's only one person. It's not like you're trying to bring in 10 people on 4 FPs. They would much rather give you a good experience than be strict about one measly FP. I've been able to get an extra FP for Soarin twice. Once my mom opted to go to the Crystal Cathedral instead of entering DCA with us at rope drop. As a result, she didn't get a Fast Pass for Soarin. When our time came up, I explained to the CM that one of our party went to church and didn't have an FP. We only had seven and needed eight. He asked if any of us could sing and we all pointed to DH and DS. The CM said if they sang Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, he could magically make another FP appear. They put on quite a little performance and even added some harmonies. The CM laughed, wrote "+1" and his initials on one of the FPs, and sent us off. Another time my sister flew in mid-day and met up with us. She didn't have an FP, so we asked very nicely and the CM said sure, go on through. I think you'll be fine.

You would have done this - it is what I did when I went to get ice creams after the rest of the family picked their spot. I got one of the FP tickets they were collecting when I left, and gave it back once I returned.

Oh... we can certainly meet also... whatever is easiest.
Easiest...naw...I think covert, stealthy, secret agent-type thing is much more fun sounding! :rotfl:

Yes, when you exit the FP area, the CM will give you back one of the FPs they've been collecting. You use that to get back into the area because they collect the FPs as you enter the viewing areas.

Ok thanks. Makes sense. I guess if they let you keep your ticket people could exit with a handful of their companions tickets and bring in people who didn't have tickets. Crowd control issue.
