5 Nights @ AKV - Club Level Became Available Tonight

Hi everyone,

With the 7-month window for September quickly approaching, tonight, I logged in to check what might be possible. I realize that inventory changes regularly, but I like to begin thinking about possible resorts and point combinations.

Well, much to my surprise, 5-consecutive nights were available at AKV - Jambo House for a Club Level Studio. During the course of my five years of membership, I have never seen club level availability. The dates were not perfect, I was hoping for a Wednesday through Monday and this was a Monday through Saturday, but I went forward and booked out of excitement and shock.

So, two questions. First, we are 7+ months out. What do you think my chances are of one night coming through on the waitlist? I am guessing slim to none given that there are only five lock-offs. Second, is Club Level worth the extra 16 points over the Savannah View?

It sounds like you lucked into someone's cancel and the wait list either not working right or just not matching.

I would say that if you have the points, do it, as this kind of serendipity only happens once. Not sure the chances on that last night are outstanding, but you can book a savannah as backup to switch into.

I'll be heading into the club level in May but when I rented, I thought it was worth it Our plans changed so that we will be doing resort days for the first few days so the club level works out nicely!

Points wise, we no longer compare club level to savanna view, but to standard view - the DVC club level rooms at AKV aren't true nor great savanna views. However, you lucked out in getting the 5 nights, and should definitely give it a shot. I think all DVC owners should try it at least once.
