I have been many many times to WDW but never with my own child. My sister and I are planning a trip when my LO will be 5 months old. Can she go on the "no height restriction rides"? also does she have to sit beside me on the seat or can she sit on my lap? Also if we wanted to stay for fireworks, should I look into getting her some noise cancelling headphones?
Thanks

Any ride without a height restriction will be fine. And you will be able to hold her.

Five months is a lovely time to go. We took my now-2 year old when he was 5 months, and we're planning to go again when the little one I'm pregnant with now is 5 months.

On rides, you can either sit her in your lap or wear her in a baby carrier. Ergo (or another similar style) is my favorite at that age. I always just put my hands over their ears during fireworks, which is also easy when they're in an Ergo.

yes she can go on anything that does not have a height requirement.
you can hold her.
you're being a bit overly paranoid about the fireworks.
as odd as it may sound to you she may sleep right through them.
think about how many babies are at disney world every day during fireworks and the amount of babies that are present at local fireworks displays on the 4th of july. i'm sure most of their parents don't put ear plugs in their ears.
and nose cancelling headphones sit tight on your ears so that would not be good for a baby.
your child will be fine hearing the fireworks.

Thanks for all the replies...as a first time mom I was just wondering what others do with regards to the fireworks (my sister thought I was nuts too to suggest the earphones lol and she is now saying "see I TOLD YOU" lmao). Thanks for the input everyone.

I was a FTM as well, we first brought DD to WDW at 8 months old. I did buy and bring headphones with us because there are other members of my family who are very sound-sensitive to loud sounds (my brother/SIL did bring headphones for my nephews because of this - they were 3 and 6 at the time and hated loud noises - they used their headphones during the fireworks). It was her first experience with loud sounds like that, so I wanted them with us just in case it was too much for her. She slept right through them, though, no headphones :)

I took ds at 5mo, all of the rides with no height restrictions were fine except for the Haunted Mansion (he did NOT like that one). Characters were fine, he especially enjoyed the parades and anything in a boat. I brought an umbrella stroller that had a near full recline and he napped very well in there and slept through the fireworks. I also brought an inflatable float for the pool which he enjoyed.
