5 guys burgers?

Just drove over 100 mile round trip to 5 guys. It was worth it, probably the best burger place I've been to. In-nout burger is good and is alot like it. I drove a few burgers and a pile of fries into me and I am still not hungry:confused3. There was a big line up about 30 people in front of me and the bags of potatoes I liked. Not much of a restuarant but that must mean the food is good, it was packed. I started off with the bacon double cheese burger and then went on to a chees burger and a hot dog and a pile of fries.

I also stopped at costco and target, so it wasn't just a burger run but my highlight of my day.

I first heard of this burger place from the radio, "bubba the love sponge" was bragging it up so I thought I would give it a try.

I give it a 10 out of 10. I will be back!

You ate all of that? That is a LOT of food for 5 guys. The regular burgers are double burgers and the kids burgers are the single ones. My location does not do hot dogs.

What type of toppings did you do? I usually get most of them with the exception of mayo. You do know you can request any or all of the toppings right? I usually order a kids burger with most of all the toppings.

I would explode if I ate three burgers from 5 guys plus fries!

I ate a little burger last night and a small/regular cajun fry and I was soooooo stuffed. I can not imagine eating all of that Nelson.

I tried Five Guys for the first time a few months ago while at WDW. I read a post on the Boards about it, and was curious. I really liked the burgers, and definitely got my money's worth. They give you enough fries for two (2) people IMO. I needed a nap after I ate. Also, I would much rather have my burger made to order, than just sitting there. It was worth the wait.

I have not been to the ones in Jersey. Somehow, most restaurants from the South do not taste the same to me when transplanted North. Just my opinion. Anyway, I am going back to Five Guys in a couple of weeks. Hope I can find some coupons.:surfweb:

I guess I am in the minority here... I think 5 Guys is just okay... pretty greasy and unhealthy.

ITA!!! DH and I just went with the kids to 5 Guys this past weekend, and saying that the food was greasy is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! We felt so unhealthy after we ate there, DH has said we all need to eat salads for a week to recover! Plus we thought it was expensive for our family of 6 to eat there!

The one burger had cheese, bacon, lettece, tomatoe, ketchup, mustard, mayo. The other burger had the same with no bacon and the third had just ketchup and cheese, my kid didn't want it so I drove it into me. This is nothin when I was 21 I ate an entire prime rib roast with potatoes and veggies and a big yorkshire puddin. But after my 5 guys I was walking a little slower but I rocked those burgers hard.

We just got their burgers for dinner tonight! Yes, it's totally a grease pit, but MAN those fries are good... :thumbsup2

I refuse to eat at McD's, Wendy's or BK, but I'll eat a burger at 5 guys...

For us, that's a once every 3 months type of treat (it's usually extra lean ground beef burgers at home...)

That's us....we don't eat it every day or even every week. We're a large blended family though, so the employees know us when we walk in the door... to people sitting there (and when we take family with us) it seems we're in there every other day LOL Still, it's a nice treat....even if we do need to walk through the mall to burn some of that grease LOL

Five Guys is our favorite burger place. In the past year we have had two open about 8 miles in either direction. De lish!

Are they good yes, are they worth driving 50 miles for heck no, especially not on a budget. But I'm of the opinion that if you are on a budget, no where is worth driving that far. The gas is too much to spend.

They are far from cheap. Their fries are awesome though and as a once in awhile treat, yes the price you pay is fine I suppose. It became more of a date night thing for me and dh because the kids didn't care if they got mcd's .89 burgers or 5 guys and if they didn't appreciate the difference, I was saving the money. Dh and I really like them though.

I agree with some of the other posters - the burgers are really good, but not worth driving 50 miles. Oh - and I always want some kind of dessert after eating there and they don't sell any dessert whatsoever! They would probably do really well if they put shakes or soft serves on their menu.

There is no way I could ever fit in a dessert after eating there :rotfl: I would blow up.
