5 Girls and a Boys Not So Scary Halloween PTR ~ 10/10 TR link

So yesterday was another movie night at my house. Only problem is I joined a walking group that walks on Tuesday and Thursdays's so we kinda had to rush in movie night before going for our walk (I dragged the girls with me :))

I think we will be moving our movie night in a couple weeks when Mondays clear up!

So we skipped any crafts since we didn't have much time

the movie was....

since it was Dumbo I decided a circus theme for food would work so we had...

Corn Dogs

Popcorn

Sangria

movienight2003.jpg

Ice Cream

movienight2009.jpg

Wait a minute.... how did Sangria get in there? Do they even sell that at a circus? Not that I care :lmao:

Emma invited a friend

And we took dow the chain!!!

I know quick and easy but I love my walking group!!!

fun, hey just finding time to watch a movie can be challenging sometimes. And I'm sure the girls had fun so that is all that mattered, and walking is great for everyone. So I would say it turned out to be a great night :-)

A walking group sounds like fun! I'd love to do that.

I agree, just watching the movie (and the Sangria!) is great too, that's what we did leading up to our Nov/Dec trip. We've swung way over to the other side this trip with all our theming.

That ice cream looks delicious!!

Thanks we had fun (on the walk too!!!)

That Sangria is very easy to drink :drinking1

I like doing the crafts and stuff but they may have to hold off a couple weeks till I can move it to Mondays and we have more time!!!

Joining a walking group sounds like a great idea - may have to look into that.

Also yay on still fitting in a movie night. The food looks yummy as always - am thinking I may have to get myself an ice cream now!

I love the walking group I have, so if you can start one up I say go for it! we were all strangers before we started walking, it helps you get to know people in your neighbourhood too!

So I went to International Scrapbook day yesterday and I got a lot done so I officially have 3 more pages for my 2010 trip scrapbook then I am done!!!!

Next I have to start to scrap my 2008 trip but it shouldn't be too bad because all the pictures are already printed and in a photo album so I just have to decide which ones I want to scrap. Also that trip was pre-DIS for me so I didn't know much so there really isn't a lot to scrap. By then hopefully this trip will be here and I can come home and scrap that!!!!

I can't wait to see your finished scrapping!

So with Whitney's heads up on the free dining coming out to the general public today, I did some number crunching over the weekend.

I'd gone over the AP discount vs free dining once before and deduced that the AP discount was much cheaper. George was very skeptical at the time, it'd been such huge discounts for our family trips, he couldn't wrap his head around why it wasn't this time around either - but he trusted my numbers.

Turns out, much to my smirky husband's delight  , he was right.

I must have not factored in getting the park tickets for the kids with the AP discount before. :confused3

In the end, I called a Disney rep this morning and the two of us went over the two offers. The Photopass book was an extra $100 to the package this year so the savings totalled $340. Woot! :woohoo:

Oh and I also bought my MNSSHP tickets with my AP discount - boo to you!!!

Great movie update! I know its hard to find time for the movies & crafts some nights! That is completely understandable, but it looks like you still had a wonderful evening!!!

I love taking walks (and the Sangria looks delish!) so it definitely sounds great to me! :thumbsup2

Oh and if it makes you feel any better, I still haven't even started my movie nights OR my countdown chain for our September trip! :lmao: :lmao:

Congrats on getting your MNSSHP tickets!!!! I still haven't posted an update on my PTR but I bought mine on May 1st!!!! I knew they usually go on sale on the 1st but since the 1st was a Sunday this year, I wasn't even planning to check on the Disney site until Monday morning. Well, I happened to be talking to my friend Sunday evening & she mentioned they were up on the website -- so I went right over & bought ours!!! :cool1:

Can't wait to hear more updates from both of you!!!! :goodvibes

So yes, last night was movie night again at our place! Last week was Ariana's favorite Snow White, so this week was Demetri's turn with his favorite. If you could see his t-shirt collection you'd know in a heartbeat his bestest movie ever is......

We had a LOT going on this night and as a result the kids didn't get to bed until an hour past their bedtime! Alex had to reluctantly skip the watching of the movie itself while practising a presentation for school but couldn't resist popping in here and there :happytv:

Our setup....

2011_0503Misc0006.jpg

Route 66 signs, penants with Lightning McQueen and Mater as well as an 'A' and 'D' for fun.

2011_0503Misc0001.jpg

A checkered flag centrepiece for our table with several of the Cars characters joining us, we served and ate of out of 'hubcaps' (pie tins!)

With a Cars downloaded font, our signed dinner was....

Radiator Wings - breaded chicken wings
Sally's Caesar Salad
Luigi's Alfredo - fettucine with a roasted garlic alfredo sauce
Mack's Meatballs with Mater's Oil - plum sauce

Treats were...

Filmore's Traffic Lights - shortbread cookies with white icing holding red, green and (no yellow!) orange M&M's
Guido's Tower of Tires - chocolate mini donuts held with a Mickey straw surrounded by four 'snow tires'
Cars fruit chews

For games and activities we played Tic-Tac-Tow Mater....

2011_0503Misc0009.jpg

Made drawings on personalized 5 x 7 picture frames that we added to our fireplace art.....

(Ariana drew Flik and Princess Atta!)

Put a VERY cool Cars 3-D puzzle together..... Ariana rocks at putting puzzles together and Demetri ended up handing her the pieces while she found where they went, lol!

Turning all the pieces over and finding the straight edges...

Done!

2011_0503Misc0020.jpg

Then while I cleaned up in the kitchen, the kids did some activity books with magic markers that only worked in the books.....

Then, before heading to the living room to watch the movie itself, we played Cars bingo.....

I won!

We love this movie and really enjoyed watching it again. Especially from start to finish in one sitting! Of course we can't wait for Cars 2 to come out too!

Last but not least, we took another segment of links off our chain....

Another week closer!

I wasn't expecting a movie update this week with your photobucket problem... you obviously figured out a work-around. ;)

Your movie nights really are amazing! I could do one or two but every week... :worship: Such a fun mom!!

Thanks Amy... we all look forward to movie night each week. Helps when I'm feeling a little guilty for all the extra hours I've been working lately.

Wow what a great Cars night with lots packed in!

I love all the food including the traffic lights! All your activities are simple but yet so much fun! :)
