5 days at Sea World?

I have boys that are 6 and 8. Could we spend 5 days just going to Sea World? It's only open 9-6 when we plan to go and the kids loooove marine animals. They will want to go to every single attraction except Kraken. I thought we could do some casual days, swim in the afternoon at the hotel, etc. -- not going full throttle. They would probably like to see some of the shows twice, do some behind the scenes stuff, etc.

Would that work or do I need to plan some alternate activities? I was thinking Aquatica but not sure what the weather will be.

I think it is too many days.

Last time we were there it was December & the parks closed fairly early.

Two days is plenty. Three easy days max. But 5 is too many.

Andrea, thanks for your advice. I'll try to have some other plans. We would love to visit Aquatica and possibly Blizzard beach if it is warm enough but I need some kind of plan B in case it's like the other times I have been to Orlando in early December and not warm enough for swimming!

I love marine mammals. I could go to Sea World for 2 weeks and not be bored.

you could. depends how you space if out, we like to got one night around 5ish, and watch all the night shows (horizons, sealions tongight, shamu rocks, misify)

a full day watching about 4--5 shows and riding kraken, and a few animal attractions

i love believe, i could just watch it over and over again, it different every time i go. different stunts, watching how the trainers and orcas reach, when the orca doesnt want to do something, seeing how they then fill the space.

I, too love SW, but two boys that young would most likely enjoy seeing something else on at least one of two of those days. Two-three at SW would be plenty, IMO.

I usually hit SeaWorld in half a day, but I'm more of a coaster junkie than an animal lover.

Two, maybe two and a half days max, IMO, 5 days is too long personally.

My kids were that age when we went last year. We also avoided Kraken. We went on a Sunday in May so crowds were minimal. If it is packed, you could probably stretch it out to two days, but beyond that, I think they would get tired bored.

We go everytime we are in the area and can not imagine spending more than 2 total days in the park - if that!!

It just occurred to me if you were considering 5 days then you probably have passes -- If so, I'd suggest going to Tampa for a day.

I beleive there is a shuttle that runs from SeaWord to Tampa Busch Gardens if you did not wnat to drive.

Way to long, the big stuff can be covered in one day. Two days should let you do it all, and then redo the good stuff.

When I have taken by two boys, we are done with Sea World in less than one day. We see several shows, visit the animals, ride the rides a couple of times, and then let the kids play in the kid area. I have always bought the tickets from AAA, and you get the 2nd day free, but they have never wanted to go back for day 2. I don't know what you would do in Sea World for 5 days.

I think you could easily do 4. I've never been Sea World Orlando but DD and I could spend two day at Sea World San Diego easily. That way you can split the number of shows you see between two days and not have to rush the kids away from the dolphins or the kids zone in order to make it to a show. Looking at Aquatica we could stay there for 5 days and ride the slides. I'm looking at getting the unlimited visits for SW and Aquatica for our trip at the end of Nov. through the Shamuclub

If you do SW in the morning and the pool in the afternoons, you could easily fill 5 days. See a show and a couple exhibits, then go to the pool. If you want to go back in the evening, you can. We have found that much more enjoyable than getting to the park at opening and staying till closing. When I look at pictures of my kids at SW, they always look red and overheated. It seems so much hotter there than at Disney because so much is outside.
They might want to see Clyde and Seamore a couple times, the indoor dog/cat show is cute, etc. I could spend hours sitting at the sea lion pool. The food at SW is about the worst of theme parks--you will be wise to leave at lunchtime.
If you find the funcard, it allows admission for the rest of the calendar year for the price of a full price day ticket.

I too spend way too much time at SeaWorld, but I do think that 5 days is a bit much. Usually when I go every day, it'll be - like you said - a few hours. I'll see three shows on one day. Look at the sharks, turtles etc another day. Harass the dolphins at the cove for a couple hours.

May I suggest going early when it first opens. Around 9:30-10am go to the Dolphin Cove area and they do husbandry in the morning. It's not crowded so you can get really close.

The only bad part about going off-peak is that they don't have as many shows like Shamu Rock or Sealions Tonight. However all the weekends in October are the Spookatacular, so that could be entertaining.

Another thing you can do, if you have the money, is do a behind the scenes thing. Trainer for a day is (in my opinion) the most comprehensive and best, but there's also Save a Species, etc.

I love SeaWorld, but there are so many things you can do in Orlando. And they don't have to be at parks. There are horseback riding tours, kayaking, Wonderworks, you can go to Cocoa Beach, or Kennedy Space Center. If you are going to do a water park my fave is Typhoon Lagoon, you can swim across a pool with sharks. Did Aquatica earlier this year and didn't love it. It was fun, but not as amazing as I hoped. How long are you in town?
