5 days and counting:) Need last minute Advice

(6/27/2010)Its getting closer and closer each hour im last minute kinda gal i just Purchased our Ap and Booked our Hotel (Tropicana Inn) I chose this because of the closeness to Disneyland.
I need advice on taking someone else child with you. Will be taking my husband little Cousin (5 years old) to join our 5 year old on our 4 day trip this will be her first time to Disneyland i just like it will be harder taking someone else kid what if they miss there parent any advice to keep them happy and feeling comfortable this whole trip. What has your guys experience been like with children who aren't yours. I wanna make this trip special for her since its her first time with out mommy and daddy and first time to Disney.. I booked appts for her and my daughter at BBB.

Find out what types of foods, snacks, comfort items, etc. that the child likes and try to provide those things. Encourage the child to call home as much as they need to--when we are away from our kids, we always call them to tell them goodnight, and have encouraged them to call if they need us. You don't want them calling constantly, but having the opportunity there is good.

Since you have a 5 year old, you know how it is when they get tired. Things seem to be a much bigger drama when they are hungry or tired or both. Just be sensitive to that!

And know that this 5 year old might not enjoy the same rides as your own daughter. She might be scared or less scared than your own child.

I'm sure you will have a blast, they will love getting all made up at BBB!

Im planing on taking them to Wal Mart and pick out there snacks and activitys for the road. My husband Family is very close knitt so calling will probably be every few hours lol my daughter and her cousin are 2 month apart and act like twin and they love playing dress up this was a last minute decision after my little girl told her everything about Disney and invited her we decided to take her and enjoy seeing her expressions. She is a late in life baby and has a house full of older brother so im hoping she'll enjoy a break from them lol. My daughter showed her the video from her BBB experience last year so the little girls looking forward to it. Im just nervous to be 3 hours away and worry she'll wanna go home but im gonna keep all you said in mind thank you
