We leave in 5 days for Polynesian Conc. !!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Can you tell I'm excited??? My question: should I fax my room request or e-mail Polynesian Conc. ? I still have no idea what to ask for in our room request though. Should I take "pot luck" and take what we get at check-in???

For those of you who have requested 3rd floor Hawaii & are non-smokers, have you ever had to move because of the room smoke smell??? I hate the smell of smoke, so I'm verous nervous about asking for 3rd floor. But I'd love for my DDs to see out on the balcony. Thoughts???

Thanks!! Back to laundry so we can pack. ;)

I wish I knew the answers, but I've never faxed a room request. I've heard that the third floor is not smoky. Wish I could help more, but I'm excited for you! The Polynesian is our favorite resort. Have a great time!

I have never faxed room requests.. but these are my thoughts about the smoking, if the floors below are smoking rooms and people go out on the balcony to smoke, it will rise up to the third floor balconies.. it is just the way it.. unless there is a non smoking building..

Recently I checked into the Swan and had requested non-smoking rooms.. and when we walked into our daughter's room, it reeked of smoke... we had her room changed....but the management insisted no one had smoked in that room.. Trust me, I am a reformed smoker.. someone in that room previously had been smoking and a lot. So I do understand your concern about smelling the cigarette smoke.. Good luck.

The 3rd floor rooms I have gone into in Hawaii had no smell of smoke at all and I am very sensitive to the smell. You will not get smoke from below because the rooms below are non-smoking. I would not worry too much with requests. Everyone here gets a little carried away with requests. I have never put in a requests on any visit to the Polynesian and it always has worked out fine for us.

Aloha

seeWDW,

We stayed GV concierge over Christmas and I was facing the same dilema! I have a daughter who can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke & suffers terrible headaches from it. However, she REALLY wanted a balcony! We decided to chance it based on Tikiman's comments. We were SO glad we did. We had room 3522, overlooked the quiet pool. The room smelled fresh and clean and we never noticed any smoke in the hallways. Maybe we just got lucky but I wouldn't hesitate to stay third floor again.
Have a WONDERFUL trip :jester:

Thanks y'all!! I'm feeling much better. I may e-mail conc. staff and ask for 3rd floor, but that will be as far as I go. I'm not one to "push", and to be honest, part of the fun is not knowing where we will be.

Too bad I can't do the same for the warm weather. We will have a onderful time anyway - just all bundled up.

I'll let you know what happens....

4 more days...:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:
