Luckily my bank reimburses up to $10 foreign atm fees. I usually wind up hitting a machine in EPCOT at least once or twice in my trip. For some reason cash seems to jump right out of my wallet there. I think it is b/c we get more snacks being such a long day. I usually pay cash for stuff like ice cream. I just always like to have a little bit of cash on me. Since I never receive any fees at all for using them, the atm machines at disney don't really bother me. I feel weird using a cc for a $2.50 ice cream. But, that's just a personal choice.
I have never used an ATM at DL or WDW! There really is no reason.....if we don't have cash with us for the ice cream or whatever, we go to an OTC place that serves it or we don't get it.
I have never used an ATM in Disney either. I didn't even know they had them in the parks. I charge everything to my room. I usually don't even have $1 cash on me when I'm in the parks.
After reading this thread I watched the news last night and they were saying that this is coming to MOST bank ATMs other than your own.....so it won't be just Disney ATMs.
If I didn't I'd just make sure to have enough cash on me before heading to Disney. Also, I think you can cash checks at the hotel desk, or at least you used to.
