well, its here...the day we have to go home...I was depressed from the time I woke up...however at the same time, I was ready to get OUT Of the crowds...I had enuff of that...had the trip been longer, we would have spent more time at the resort and that may not have been so much of an issue.

anyway, we had NO plans....but our towncar wasnt coming till 3:45, so we had lots of time. I figured AK or a waterpark, since we never went to one. we left is up to our 4 year old....he picked AK since he had been anxious to get back on the safari again the entire trip. And since dinosaur was closed for rehab earlier in the week and was opening back up this day, I was totally game. Its also so pretty there, I was looking forward to it. We put our bags in storage and left for the park.

my legs were giving me fits...by the time we got to the gate, I felt like I already went 15 miles that day....but I trucked on...son keeps saying he feels good, son got to ride in a stroller the entire time.

we walked right in about 30 minutes after the opening and headed to dinosaur. How we convinced our son to get on that ride Ill never know, but we told him it was a nice slow ride...hahahaha, Ive never even been on it...that was INCREDIBLY intense...the picture of us is hilarious....Im looking up and my son AND wife both have their faces hidden in their arms.....it is a scary ride....but my son was SO proud of himself after he rode it.

we went to the safari next and pulled some fast passes and passed time by shopping. Then we went on the safari again...I swear the animals were all in the exact same places, but the driver wasnt as much of a lead foot as the first one, so I got some great pictures.

we shopped a little more and then headed to the rainforest cafe for lunch. now, we ate a big lunch cause we knew we would flying over dinner, but I gotta say I about fell over at the price of the bill...for a chain? never again, it wasnt THAT good...tasty, but still seemed like chain food. again, 3 drinks.....no alcohol....I see a pattern here. anyway...interesting restaurant...but one I will only relive in memories. the high point was that they had machines that flatten quarters...all week we were collecting the pennies and bought a book at WDW to hold them all...but we had three empty slots for quarters...so I bought 3 at the cafe just to fill the book for him.....I think we got 38 pennies and 6 quarters all togethher....neat little souviner and he loved looking for the penny machines all week.

when we came out, it was starting to rain, so we went back to the hotel to hang around rather than back in the park....bummer, we had a late afternoon flight to give us more time, and we ended up just sitting around anyway. We had ice cream, played video games, shopped at jackson gifts for the 100th time....then it was time to go.

we told my son the car was there to take us back to the airport and he started crying. It was one of the most heartbreaking things Ive ever seen, I started crying because of it...heck, Im tearing up now thinking of it. My wife ran back in and bought a dvd set of donald duck cartoons and brought it back out to him as a "going away from disney" present and to cheer him up.

we got back to the airport no problems....then we see our plane is scheduled 45 minutes later than originally. oh well, the kinda sucks, but no problem. Well then it go close to the scheduled time and it was going to be another 30 minutes, then another 40 minutes on that....and on. the plane took off over 3 hours late....in an airport, with a zillions exhausted children who are upset about leaving in the first place....this is NOT a good time. We turned on donald duck dvds on the laptop and a crowd of kids gathered for awhile....all the parents were falling all over us thanking us, as it was a good thing to keep them all quiet. then the laptop battery died and so the circus started up again.

then came the flight....those same screaming, tired, upset children were not all jammed into a metal tube....still tired, still upset STILL SCREAMING....man, that was a long two hours

we got back after 11, bags took about 40 minutes to pop out and THEN I drove the 1.5 hours home....home at 1:30 AM on the nose....I think next time we will just split in the morning.

you leave disney wishing you didnt have to go home, and then after the whole "flying" thing, thats all you want to do is get home.

Ill post final thoughts next
