I looked up...all I saw was the ceiling, and it needs painting! :sad2:

Well....I think I have all my Christmas shopping done. :woohoo: Not doing much, so I won't have a lot to box up and ship.

Now all I need to do is get Megan's furniture shipped to her, and I'll be a happy camper.

I'll probably start addressing Christmas cards at night now....definitely will not be done by my Thanksgiving deadline, but close.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

PAINTER ????? I have 2 coats I wear when I paint. some one told me 2 coats is ALWAYS BETTER ????????

MOVING ????? I know a trucker that would enjoy moving furniture to a place with 2 great train engines ??? THAT way he could get GREAT pictures of the trains ?????????
and I hear there is an old trainer out your way ?????????

So how much would it cost me to pay for your gas and expenses to come down here, and then take Megan's things to Omaha? We're planning to only fill a 6'x7'x8' pod. May need a little more space than that...but it might give you an idea.

There's probably a LOT of old trainers out our way...do you have a particular one in mind? Or did you mean trailor?

Commenting Irene style

Angie, thanks for the update. No cancer is good news!

Christmas???!!! I'm not even ready to think about Thanksgiving yet. I was always the first with a Christmas letter, cards finished and all mailed by the day after Thanksgiving. Not any more...

Missed the WDW sale by a week for our summer dates pre-cruise. Rats...

Posting election, I've slowly returned to lurking on the community board and reading the kindle threads. I'm a frequently 2-3x/week visitor to our library. Paying for downloaded books would be quite expensive on top of the kindle price. Our library does have the electronic media, the kindle might support some of those forms. They've just added Apple products to Overdrive Media - unfortunately, our library doesn't access mp3 files only wav. and my older iPhone will do Overdrive mp3 files. Still downloading, burning and transfering CDs for the books which allow burns. I still like sitting down with a book, I'm not sure (yet) a Kindle would be worth the price for me.

For the past 10 days, I've been involved in filming the updated material for the YMCA of the USA's lifeguarding course. I can't remember what I posted earlier, so forgive me if it's a repeat. Thought I was just going to be a "go-fer" and technical advisor - but, as the time wore on, the schedule dragged on, our "stars" couldn't be away from their Ys and I appeared more on film. The kids even got into the act. We staged some public swims in both the water park and the pool and the staff kids had a blast (safely) breaking as many rules as they could think of as we were filming scanning activities for the lifeguard candidates.

We anticipate a launch this next year, poor Mike he'll take the lifeguarding course in two years. Just what he wants to see, his mom (who in no way way rivals Pamela Anderson) in a swimsuit in his manual and training films... :scared1: Unless some major industry change takes place - even Maggie will have to suffer the same embarrassment.

To add further insanity to our already insane schedule. Mike made the 8th grade basketball team. With the kids' schedules, I should have majored in transportation logistics...:rotfl2:

Sprints, baseline runs, suicide drills, and stairs have finally put Mike into the teenager sleep mode, he's no longer up at 6:00 - He's sleeping until the last possible moment before school. I have a feeling my grocery bill will go up immensely with the increase in his activities. Maggie's playing lacrosse 6-8/hrs a week plus dance classes another 3 hours/week. They are also rehearsing for the Christmas production and her tap class is marching/performing in the local Christmas parade so, add in another 1-2 hrs/ week for the next few weeks. She, too , is eating me out of house and home. Maybe I'll send them to the Scubas...

Hey Karen - it's your first time.

7:55 - look up!

We went to the new subdivision and stood in the park and watched. :) AWESOME! Would have been a bit better without the cloud cover--the shuttle kept coming into and out of view. That's my SECOND night launch I've seen. One just happened to be while we were at Disney in December of 2006.

Monica....and to think you got your big break into movies by rubbing shoulders with Cindy Crawford a few years ago....:lmao: :lmao:

Had to laugh. Reminds me of the episode of "According To Jim" where he had a part in a sex-ed video as a kid, and found out the school was going to show it to his daughter. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Pam...tell Ashley we're proud of her!!!

How's Dale doing?

Stacey,

Dale is doing great. He will be home a week from Tuesday for Thanksgiving, and I can't wait to see him. Charley flew down last weekend to see him and I was so glad. He had his second concert and had a huge solo part. Charley said he was so proud of him because he nailed it. Afterwards, everyone was coming up to him congratulating him and telling him how well he had done. He is getting really excited about going to WDW in January. He has found out who he will be sharing a room with and they are communicating quite a bit on facebook. He is from New York and is also a freshman at some school in Pennsylvania.

I just hope I can get through the next week. I feel like I am in one of those commercials about the kids laying there because they can't sleep because they are going to WDW. That is how I feel about him coming home for a few days. Seems hard to believe he has been gone since the middle of August.

Nope, I can't top that! :scared1: I hope the mothers & babies are adjusting.

Hey Pam! You & Charley certainly have 2 awesome kids to be very proud of! :thumbsup2 And I know how you feel about seeing Dale again. Rachel was just home from Charlotte for about 36 hours and it was great to see her again. We've only seen her once, also very briefly, since she moved in late July. :sad1:

Sounds great he is coming home. We are jealous of you actually knowing his schedule.

We are still adjusting to the AF and how schedules are up in the air until the last minute. We still don't know how much time Matt will have off at Thanksgiving and/or if he will be able to leave the base or how far he will be able to travel. That's military life.

We decided today that we will probably just drive to Biloxi so we won't have to worry about his schedule.

I know it will get better when he is done with tech school, but for right now it just makes planning tough.

Hopefully, next week we will learn if he can come on our Christmas cruise. If not, Lisa will get to take a friend.

Oh no, Jim, I thought the Christmas cruise was a done deal! How sad would that be?

Monica, that's not a bad idea. I'm sure the Scubas are still buying a lot of extra food out of habit. Kind of funny, Alicia's boyfriend is the oldest of three boys, all 6' plus athletes. We had him to dinner a couple of weeks ago, and he told her after that he had never had broccoli "that way" before, and it was really good. "That way" was steamed!

His family might have it the way I used to do to make my kids eat it....with melted cheese.
Or maybe they only ate it raw, with dip.

I'm just now getting a taste of what it's like to have a child live away from home....and I'm not liking it too much. It is going to be 100 times worse when the baby comes.
Now every time I see a baby I almost cry, thinking that I won't be able to see the grandbaby whenever I want to. :sad1:
Someone should have warned us of the continued heartache BEFORE we had kids.

So true, Stacey. If you don't want your heart broken, don't have kids. Never would have listened if someone had told me that, though.

JIM sent you the other movies.

YEAP I'm SLOOOOOW at times ???? most times that is.
