Hmm... yardwork... shoveling.... yardwork... shoveling.... I'll take the yardwork, thanks!:sunny:

We had a very similar discussion while standing in our front yard today... I want to rip out everything along my walk and put in stone... stone doesn't grow weeds. I can deal with trimming the palms and hibiscus, but weeding makes me crazy!!! I swear that Middleton plants weed-seeds in hopes that we'll sign up for their maintenance plan.

Don't be fooled. We took the stone out because of the weeds. I have always been a big believer in stone. It's great for a time, but the weeds do take over. It is just as bad as mulch so putting in stone is not the answer.

Our neighbors just had some beatiful beds put in, all stone around the palms. 30 days later there are weeds growing in it. They put the weed barrier down, but that helps helps. Does not stop because the weeds start growing in that. It was seeing the weeds in their beds that forced my decision to just take the whole thing out.

If the lawn guys could get their mower into the small space between the walk and the house, I'd pull out all the mulch and put sod in!!!!! Sure is better than looking at snow, though!!!:teeth:

We are pulling weeds this morning at our house.

How do we pull weeds in the south?

It's better than shoveling snow, but not as much fun as diving!!

By crickey!!!

That was a two month old "weed" right! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I hate to say this (he's not here to defend himself), but Kevin is a GUY. He might succumb to peer pressure. And you know how persuasive Jim can be. I know there are sharks off the FL coast, but you won't go looking for them, will you? If anyone could attract sharks, it would be my kid. You should see what happens when there are any mosquitoes around.
Gosh hon, glad you noticed  (at least about the guy part)!! Besides, according to some (thanks tigger) it is a Preferred situation!!

We do get out of the restrooms first, and mechanics don't take advantage, AND we get to be WRONG ALL the time!!!

Now where is that Stuarts Cove brochure.........

Jim, you could move out here to the desert. We actually get rebates on our water bill for "xeriscaping". That means, having a yard that doesn't require any water, rocks and stuff.

I would love it, but that is frowned on here. After all we do live in a subtropic climent which means plenty of rain which means plenty of weeds which means time away from diving, gym, trips, cruises......you ge the idea.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Monday!

Back to work I go and I'm not looking forward to it. Quiet weekend - kind of a lazy one for me. Oh well.

Off to read the boards and then off to work I go. Have a great day everyone!

WooWoo!!! It's Independence Day at my house. My youngest son just got on the bus with his older brother for FULL DAY Kindergarten. So, I alotted myself a little time on the computer, housework, and then out for lunch with the other MOMS for a celebration lunch!!! Life is good.

Have a great day today.

I'm not TOO excited!!!!

Congrats on that milestone, Maria! Enjoy your day.

I did nothing constructive this weekend, so must work hard today. Took Alicia and her teammates to watch the regional competition. Not sure if they are inspired or discouraged. We are always being told by the comps that come in that this is one of the best cities in the country. Of course, they may say that to all the cities.

Dancind - what part of the Southwest are you in? Obviously from my screen name, I'm in NY, just North of NYC.

Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad to see other competition. But, it could give a lot of inspiration if handled correctly by the team. Something to work towards. What kind of competition? I'm thinking along the lines of cheerleading? Am I right?

Gotta go now and get ready for my celebratory lunch. Talk to you later.

Maria, we are in Albuquerque NM. Tinksdad is my DH. Stacey is next door, in AZ, and BWVPam is nearby in El Paso TX. :sunny:

DD is a dancer. She wants to do drill team in high school, though. I don't think she can try out until she's a sophomore, so we have another year and a half before that kicks in.

Nothing like a good old  bump!

Guess everyone has been busy lately. I know it's been crazy at my work. Then we have Ohiominnie and Ohiomickey off skiing and Stacey taking care of her mom.

Maybe we need a nice quiet discussion like how much wine to bring on a 7 day cruise!

I vote for one bottle for each dinner, plus a couple of Banfi for dessert nights and maybe some port for Jim when he gets surly....... :rotfl2:

It has been a busy day. We have to take the kid to dance, and then later have a "pre-high school" parents meeting. Can't wait to see what that's all about..... :confused3

let's not forget the

WDWLVR, you sure know what topic to pick to get Kevin and I chatting. Kevin was a little light. He forgot the wine needed for the afternoon on the deck before dinner. That would be a light white wine. Need two of those. Will also need one for brunch.....

Bottom line, there will be a few bottles that get taken on.

Sad, but we need a bump. So I will do it with Kevin's favorite!

I'm here but no one is talking to me. I figure best to spoke only when spoken to.

I'm here, just been on the DVC site trying to sell some points. Gotta cover the downpayment somehow. :flower:

Now, on the wine issue...has anyone ever had the bottles break in their bags? That would have to be a mess. As for our family, we bring on bottles of Smirnoff Ice. That summer we brought 12, I think we might need more next summer.
