There... just thought I'd send you some Florida sunshine to brighten your day... hope it helps!

Ah, thanks! Actually yesterday Mike and I had dental check ups and the light they shine on me seemed exceptionally bright and warm. I just layed back and closed my eyes and pretended I was in St. Lucia! :cloud9:

Wow... you HAVE got it bad!!! Time to relocate! Its a bit hard to see my computer screen right now, as the sun is shining on it just a bit too brightly through these heavily tinted office windows...

Count us in for moving to FL 2,3,4 years from now. Still debating if it would be better to move for DD's Jr. and Sr. year (and therefore qualify for the FL scholarship program), or let her graduate from high school here first. She wants to go to a FL University.

The three days after the cruise at WDW were wonderful weather. A little cool, but we really only needed jackets after dark. Perfect! Loved the weather the time we went in March, and October was nice too. Summers might be a bit much though.

We'll just have to have enough money to either cruise all summer, or an RV to head north in.

Mary, the photo gallery was a great help! And the mini nav was super useful too, but next time I'm taking magnets so I can keep track of important stuff like that. We never found our green one, even after packing. Wondering if our room steward wanted to be part of the DIS group!

My parents say they'll never move to FL b/c of the oppressive summers. That you are a "slave to your air conditioner" in the summer. I argue that you are a slave to your heater in here in Ohio in the winter....or at the very least a slave to your canoe.

Every once in awhile we have a winter with a lot of sunshine. I don't think this is going to be the year. :umbrella:
(I think I'm going to add this smiley: :umbrella: to my sig until I see the sun) :)

We didn't cruise with most of you on the Dec. cruise, however, it sounds like you all had a great time. I think the photo gallery would be a great idea as well. Let me know how others of us can help.

P.S. Where do most of you plan on staying the night before the cruise???? Last time we cruised, we stayed at the Radisson and a bunch of us met the night before at the pool.

In the meantime it continues to pour rain here, the sump pump cycles every 60 seconds or so, the back patio is flooded (which means water drips into our basement through them main electrical line---that's not good, right Kevin?)and our yard now has a pond (which the Beast found and played in!)
Oh, and if THAT isn't bad enough....it's 37 degrees!

Ugg! Gotta love the mud, cold and a wild dog in the house! NOT!!

As far as the water and electrical is not good, but not the end of the world. There is a fairly large seperation between the hot and common wires in the panel, so some dripping water usually doesn't cause any major problems. If there is enough water to short between the hot and common lines, THEN that can be a problem. Keep the pump going!

:charac2: OK, time for my sob story. I was up most of the night because I couldn't breathe due to my first cold in ?? years. I had to put on the waders, slosh through 2 inches of water in our basement to kick-start our sump which had the float stuck this morning. Our 3 acres has about 4 big 'artificial ponds' from all of the rain that's supposed to turn to ice later today. I'm not feeling up to bundling up to go out and feed my chickens and collect the eggs today, but they'll survive. The bright side is that I didn't have to work today. Sun? What's that? Enjoyed looking through the photo gallery. I really like that idea and appreciate everything that all of you are doing to help make our cruise special for everyone. :grouphug:

I am right there with ya! We can :grouphug: and :umbrella: together!

Your own eggs? YUMMMM!! We had chickens growing up and those fresh eggs were so wonderful! I loved it when you'd get a double yoke! :)

Man, now I'm hungry for eggs....

Pam

We were discussing this last night. Don't know when we will be arriving, since our school district still hasn't published a calendar for next year. If the night before, staying at the Hyatt and using the DCL transfer service is starting to look very attractive. Though by May 2006, we may forget how awful it is to handle all that luggage (formal wear, scuba gear etc.). For this last cruise, we collected our luggage, caught a shuttle to the hotel after a 40 minute wait, and had a limo to the port the next morning. There was no luggage help at the hotel, though we wrangled a cart. Not a fun way to start a trip, though the limo ride was fun!

And then there's after. If we still have AP's, we'll have to visit the Mouse! If not, there's Universal, or a visit to the East coast for more scuba diving for the family.

Will anyone be at the World the first week in June 2005? We'll be there through the 10th, staying at BCV the last five days.

Yuck. I only have a couple of requirements for my next house. One of them is I want to live on a small hill. Not a huge one where getting in and out of the driveway is a problem, but enough so that the water runs AWAY from my house. I really don't like living on old farmland....flat flat flat.

It doesn't help that my gutters are all full of leaves and no one can get here to clean them---first they were frozen solid now it's pouring rain. So all of that water is going right down to the foundation.

I think next time I'll live in a condo on a hill. ;)

Yeah, there is a bright spot in our day, whnim64. We share a TOP!!!

If all of this rain were snow, DH would be home with me because we'd be snowed in. We're surrounded by flat farmland for 2 miles on the west 1 mile on the east, south and north. And I thought this 100-year old house was 'charming' when we brought it 3 years ago. Yes, the fresh eggs are great, but I'll be ready for a move to Florida or somewhere more south in a few years. :grouphug:

Lots of younger kids on this cruise...that's great! Perhaps we won't have any "teen troubles"!!

This is the perfect time to cruise. We went at this same time on our first cruise, and the ship wasn't crowded at all. But with this being another kind of "special" cruise, maybe it will sell out.
I wish it were this May, and not next!

Did you all run into teen trouble on your 12/18 cruise?
This will be the first time that my family sails in the summer as well, we normally go in Oct/Sept/Nov so it will be a change

:flower1: Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Wednesday! Snow is falling here in Chicago!

Karen & Mike are you in the path or are you far enough South that you'll get more rain?

A few questions for the group. The 12/18 cruisers know this but the rest of you might not. Back when we started the 12/18 thread I started up a monthly newsletter to get to know everyone. It was a lot of fun but also quite frankly a lot of work so I'm not really up to a monthly commitement like that again. One of the off shoots of the newsletter was a photo gallery of who was cruising. I'd be happy to do that again - in fact I have one started for the Member Cruise.

Would you guys be interested in that? I'm thinking we could do it a little different than we did before and list birthdays and anniversaries on the page as well. One other thing I think I would change is making it password protected. The password seemed to cause most people a hassle and we really didn't give out much personal info.

I don't want to take away anything from the list Amanda has already started. In fact gaRry kept a list on the thread for our 12/18 group while I kept the list for the newsletter. Kind of kept us in check.

Also and this is for much closer to the cruise - did the mini-navigators work? If so I'll be happy to do them again. If not I won't.

So I'd love to hear feedback from everyone on if they would like to see this. If so I can get it up and running in the next couple of weeks.

For those of you who are interested here is the link to the one from the 12/18 cruise. Photo Gallery

I think whatever any of us can do to make this cruise more memorable is OKAY! And great minds think alike, as I was thinking about that this morning, wouldnt it be great to have a photo gallery of us so we can picture faces with the names. That is one of the reasons I started my list, so I could start thinking of everybosy as their REAL name and not as their screen name. That has been my biggest problem at DIS meets I cant remember real names! LOL I only think of that person was their screen name. DO you know the kind of looks you receive from other people when you say, Oh I know here that is wdwlover, or RAC etc etc etc.....LOL

I was wondering about the weather at this time of year. My Passporter has rainfall totals as pretty high for June. I hope we have nice weather! I hope the ships not too crowded. I'll be perfectly happy with my cat. 8 but am hoping to upgrade to a verandah at the port or maybe even be lucky enough to get a free upgrade (but I'm not holding my breath!)

I too wish it wish our cruise was this year & not next!!!

I know , you, a GA girl, did not just go there with concerns of rain!!!! Have you gone mad chick???? :earboy2: LOL

All of you folks that live up north need to move down south. We're enjoying almost 70 degree temps this week here in Atlanta. This weather is crazy but I'm loving it! I'm a southern girl through & through and can't stand the cold!
Im more south than you are nah nah nah...... :cool1: We need to have ourselves a meet since we are so close! LOL

It is the Carribean so there will be rain, but it should be the afternoon variety. .
HMmm I wonder if this spawned the reasoning for the afternoon delight?? :bitelip:

You really need to consider becoming FLORIDAMICKEY & FLORIDAMINNIE instead!!! The sun is shining brightly at 8:24AM, and its expected to be a lovely 80 degrees all week.
!
I am considering it also. I am trying to talk to DH and get him to agree......we shall see
