Since we are meeting at JB's at 4 I'm thinking we'll still have plenty of time to stop by the Radisson and see everyone. We aren't staying there but we are just down the road at Hampton Inn. What time are you guys planning on meeting at the Radisson?

Or we could come knocking on doors at the Hampton Inn :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
We will only be arriving late so if anyone is out at the pool then we will drop by else will have to look for you guys once on board. :thumbsup2

Good question, when are we? We are planning on being there to go to Grill's for dinner and then hanging out at the pool.

We'll be there. Can't wait...:cool1:

Attn. Cruisers

Webmaster Corey was just on the Magic and has a brand new set of navigators up (just click on the link at the top that says DCL Main). This includes a tendering sheet from Cozumel. Thought you all might be interested.

Maria - I thought you guys were going to JB's. Changed you minds?

One more attention for the night. Cut-off for the navigator is tomorrow. Since I haven't heard any other events the only date I'll be putting in the calendar is the DIS meet at 3pm on Saturday.

If anyone wants to organize something else and have it included I need to have a date and time tomorrow.

Goodnight, Tinytink!!

Sherry....where are you??? You're supposed to be keeping me company!

Our internet stopped working yesterday afternoon. I finally get on and there's 30+ pages to read :goodvibes

Our neighbors invited us over last night to celbrate Cinco de Mayo! We had tamales and posole. There were plenty of margaritas of course. After we ran out of tequila we cleaned out all the bottles that were low - DH's were drinking Red Bull mixed with something (yagermister?), mango vodka, then out came the cream de cocao and the orange liquor along with a dark chocolate candy bar. I'm surprised there was no throwing up going on!

My mom bought me some jewelry case. It's like a faux leathery thing, hard case with compartments in it. The thing is bulkier than anything, and considering I bring about....oh TWO pieces of jewelry, it's OVERKILL. Plus, last time, I put my two necklaces in it, and KT wanted to bring two and even with all of their anti-tangle mechanisms in place, our necklaces were completely tangled when I opened it.

Guess what is NOT coming on this cruise. I like the dishtowel/safety pin idea. I do have some old cloth diapers around, that would work. I'm picturing this......do you just safety pin the tops and the bottoms to the cloth and then roll it up???
I usually lay out a kleenex (yes, a clean one!), lay the necklace down, roll the tissue, and put it in a little tupperware type container with rings or earrings. I also have a couple of those jewelry rolls that don't get used :goodvibes
Sherry

Kevin, I PM'd you - I kept getting some "connection timed out" message or something. Hopefully you'll get it.

Well DS, who is now a.k.a. Lobster Boy, is starting to blister! Hopefully there will only be a few :sad2: We went to see MI3 this afternoon. He had wanted to go the lake with his friends. More :sunny: - I don't think so!

I TOTALLY agree!!! I roast ours to a full city roast, about 7 minutes through three various heat seatings. Toasty!! :woohoo:

For most of mine I roast just a few seconds into second crack. For a Yemen I will go more for a rolling second.

I am seriuosly thinking of bringing my small grinder and press pot and a couple of piunds of beans. I have 1.5# of Kona + soome central american (Nicaragua and Brazil) and a littel yemean and ethiopian left - anything you want to rry?

limo reservation from MCO to port.....check.

only 452 more things to do. :)

Ok, I looked over all of the coffee roasting information. And, while it LOOKS interesting, I'm not sure I'm up for it. Smoke, smell, loud noises, must do it outside or in a garage....
is it REALLY that much better? We USUALLY get really good coffee here from a coffee shop (get Starbucks if we aren't in Stauf's area of town) It's not like we're drinking Folger's Crystals. I have Starbucks for my espresso machine.

I mean, really, how GOOD is this fresh roasted coffee??

WARNING! If you choose to go down this past you will bwe ruined for EVER drinking coffee "out" ever again. I find that yes it is THAT good!

Here is my standard advice progression that I give if people ask me how to make better coffee:

Bean and Grinder - 1st priority
1. Start using whole bean, but get a burr grinder -- not the whirly blade type. Grind only enough to make one pot and make it right away -- no you can not grind the night before and let it sit.

2. Switch from grocery store brands of whole bean to local coffee shop brand - ensure you know when the beans were roasted. I prefer beans that are 2-6 days old. Any older than that I can start to taste the "stale" taste. You can store beans in the freezer until you open the bag, then sotre them in an air-tight container --DO NOT PUT THEM BACK IN FRIDGE OR FREEZER. Humidity is BAD for bean and when you open the frozen beans in your kitchen condensation forms insdie the bag. Just buy small bags and use it quickly

3. Move into home roasting -- See Sweetmarias, alt.coffee, coffeegeek.com

Brewing - Lots of choices (listed in my order of preference)

1. Vacuum Brewer - such and the Cona on Sweetmarias site -- Don't have one, but these things are cool!! I do have an electric Starbucks version that does a decent job.

2. French press - Pout ground coffee into glass carafe -- I add a lot of coffee - around 3oz for a large press. Fill with water just off of the boil (HOT water is critical) Stir and let stand for 4 minute. Press and enjoy. Note that these use a fairly large screen so there is a fair amount of sediment in the cup. Monica calls it my "crunchy" coffee.

3. Drip brewer - The key here is to use lots of coffee and make sure the brewer provides hot enough water --The biggest problem with machines in this catagory is most do not get hot enough. Coffeegeek.com has reviews of several machines that do it right. The timers are great, but you can not get a great cup of coffee without grinding immediately before brewing. There are the machines that grind and brew, but two problems, first they are usually the whirly blade grinders, 2 if either the grinder or the machine fails you have to replace the whole thing.

Espresso - Let's not go there
This falls into the realm of anal-retentive insanity, so I will leave this for a future post.......

Okay lecture mode off :teacher: :surfweb:

Wow. OVERWHELMED. :)
Well, good to know I do SOME things right. We TRY to get coffee house whole beans if we're in the area....but, like I said, it's not close to us so we have to opt for Starbucks sometimes.
We do have a burr grinder. That's good. But I grind in the AM to get the coffee pot ready for the NEXT morning's pot of coffee.
Other than that we're failing miserably. :(
