This might be what you are looking for....http://www.padi.com/english/common/courses/rec/begin/dsdsd.asp
I know they offer it at St. Thomas - won't help you much in Mexico...

I googled padi discover scube and cozumel and found several like this....try http://www.scubaclubcozumel.com/training.html

and a UTOP with diving what a great way to end the day...

mpdfg

:wizard:

Thanks, I am checking those websites when I get home (I have Dial-up at work :confused3 ), but, what is a UTOP? LOL... its like y'all speak another language.... lol... :rotfl2:

:confused3
What is with the new boarding? Last cruise - '03 - we all took turns standing in line and even the concierge people had to wait... And we all just had to like it. pirate:

Can someone catch me up.... Or direct me to the thread where I am sure this has been talked to death. :rolleyes2

When you come up the escalator now you are given a boarding number starting with #2 (#1 is for concierge). Then when boarding starts they board by number. That way you don't have to stand in line.

As you enter the terminal you go through security. At the base of the escalators/stairs they ask "how many staterooms do you have?" you tell them. They hand you that number of cards that have a number on them.

Then you go upstairs and check in and wait.

Then they board handicapped, and cat's 1, 2, and 3 as a big group. Then they call out the first number. Then a big mass of people head over to the Mickey ears. Then 10-15 minutes later when that group has gotten on, they call out the next number. The earlier you get to the port, the lower your number is.

I dreaded it, but it really wasn't too bad. We did board a little later than we WOULD have (b/c we'd have fought for a near the front of the line spots) but we still got in pretty quickly.

HTH.

WOW! I never even knew there was such a thing!! That might be the best option given the time I have between now and then...

Is anyone from the group planning on "Snuba'ing?" LOL.... it more fun with a group! :grouphug:

It does look like fun and would be something I could do. I hate snorkelling b/c of the water that always ends up in my snorkel.

Mike cannot CANNOT try this. He had eye surgery for his glaucoma and the doc told him he can NEVER do anything like this. The change in pressures could cause his eye to literally explode. And he says it's normally fatal b/c when you're 20 ft under and your eye explodes, you freak and die. Freaking while SCUBA-ing is NOT good. :)

OK... now a little bit more done. We have a place to stay the night before the cruise. We decided to join ya'll folks at the Radisson, catching the first shuttle to the Port. So, we will be at JBs for dinner then on to CapeCanaveral.

Of course, girls are different. I'm taking one! Alicia has at least two......

You forget, two plus the scuba bikini. She doesn't wear that one in "public".

GMTA!! (Great Minds Think Alike for those of you trying to translate)

Although you said the same thing in a lot less words. I'm not very efficient in that respect!!!

Ok...ok....must order the Cappy's pizza so it's here for Survivor!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, Virgil!!

Let me know if you are thinking of it seriously and we can figure out the details... I would love to try it...! :woohoo:

I am so sorry to hear about Mike, that would not be a good thing at all... I agree about the water in the snorkel too... lol... :rotfl:

Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome.... what an awesome group it is here!

So, what sort of DIS events are planned? I know about the meeting on the first day and the one friday afternoon? What esle is going on? Any Wine Mixers???? :cool1:

Hey! My brother resembles that remark...
Or as I like to say, he was born breech and has been showing his true side ever since...:lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks...I needed that! And I may steal your line.

I just got home. 8 1/2 hours in a small office with that...that....that....creep....and LISA never showed up. I'm so proud of myself! She poked her head in the office door once, but I made her go away.

Now I'm going to go lay on the couch and cry for a while.

All printing on bags and shirts were to start a couple of days ago. She still wants to get them shipped by Monday or Tuesday. The logo is going to be a solid white puff print. There was going to be a problem with the silkscreening, too much to go into detail, but anyway, the puff looks really cool. It is raised. Hope everyone likes them, if not -- I will change my name :lmao:

Sherry volunteered to have mine shipped to her house (she lives in ARIZONA too! :goodvibes ) if we think it may be a problem to get my bag & shirts delivered. Let me know what you think! Thank you thank you thank you thank you.......

Here is another question from the 'I need to go on more DCL to keep up files"

What about this signing up for everything on-line? We tried to get our Palo ressies and were told they were booked???? :furious: Then we were told they still have space but only take a certain # of ressies on-line... Do we do the mad ressie rush now or can I get a # for that too? :lmao: Or do I have to 'take somebody out' to get my spot? pirate:

OOPS!!! Sorry... I am logged in under DD's name....
It is me DBCS - Barbara

I DO realize that Mike will chime in on this and say "My eye won't EXPLODE!!" And then he'll use terms like hemmorhage or retina detachment or things like that. He'll make it sound MUCH less sensationalistic.

Legal Briefs....Sorry, didn't mention....It does look like fun, but I'm not going to do it on the cruise. I'll hang with dh (and the kids if we can get them out of the clubs) :)

I got my first pair of CROCS yesterday (ordered from REI). I got the light blue nile ones. I am wearing them now to see how they do on my feet. I can't see spending all day in them at WDW though. I have a weak ankle and I am afraid that there is not enough support. Now I am waiting on the SAFE SEA to arrive.

Have fun today everyone.

Our new bottles of Sea Safe arrived the other day. I'm also trying a spray-on sunscreen for the first time. I hate getting my hands all icky putting that stuff on. (OCD, you know)

AND...I forgot to tell you....Jay & I went shopping in Vegas and I bought a pair of water/hiking sandals that I had been checking out online. They're made by KEEN. They are a lot like the Nike's I had, except they have a closed toe...which is good for me, since I seem to enjoy stubbing my toes at every opportunity.

Stacey, at least it's OVER. It is over, isn't it?

Today was errand day. Got new tires, gas, oil change, hit an estate sale, fed the kid after school and got her to dance. So now will relax with a glass of wine and watch Survivor. OM, who are you rooting for? I don't really like any of this bunch, but I watch anyway.

Speaking of rooting, I couldn't believe the stuff the judges said to Katherine on AI the other night. I thought she sounded good! I hear that Simon actually apologized to her the next night.

Why can't we pick family the same way we pick cruise buddies....just pick the GOOD ones!!! :confused3

Stacey - since you get to board first - can you request these....Thanks... :teeth:

I was waiting for that......How about if I ask for 41.5 and Virgil asks for 41.5???
