Yeah, me too. The assignment I'm at waffled back and forth, and for about 30 seconds, I had today off. Then one of the managers came over and said, "I have PLENTY to keep you busy!" Drat. But I'll be leaving around 1, so I guess that's not too bad.

Of course, Jim has off, and will no doubt keep Erin home. And I'll be at work... Slaving away...

Sharon made the mistake once of telling me we could leave for a vacation to Charleston when I woke up in the morning. We were on the road at 3 am. She was not happy, but we got there a day early.

Sounds like something my father would do. Based on that, you can imagine how much I enjoyed the 7,000 cross-country car trip we took when I was 17!

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I've been skimming through your posts and you seem like an interesting group! My boyfriend and I just booked for this cruise to celebrate our graduations from college! I'm so excited!

btw, our siding job is starting Monday and we were "warned" that it would more than likely be an all Mexican crew (legal, of course)....but they did say that they were hard pressed to find enough Americans willing to do the work and who weren't all mired down in unions.

We just got a quote yesterday for the siding with the styrofoam backing. The salesman went s-l-o-w-l-y through his sales pitch, showed us the numbers . I sat down at my pc to run some number through my spreadsheet and asked DH to come take a look. To my surprise, the salesman came over to watch! He got po'd when we told him we weren't going to sign any contract right then, asked if we didn't understand that we'd get xx% off if we signed, packed up his stuff and left without saying a word after we told him that we were NOT going to decide the same day. We asked him to leave a card and a printed estimate, but he didn't leave either one. I feel like calling the company and complaining about him.

Didn't realize that I set myself up for a top using Virgil's thing. OM, my older DD works with a Mexican couple at the dairy farm. That's another job where it's hard to find someone willing to do the work for the little pay that they get.

Another day off and I woke up at 5 this morning, tossed and turned and finally got up at 5:30 expecting to have about 2 or 3 hours of peace and quiet. DD heard me get up, though, and got up to spend time with me. DH and a friend got a lot accomplished on dismantling the barn yesterday and will be working on it all day today. DS had a friend over, and he brought his go-cart. He was in little boy heaven tooling around on that all day yesterday. I know what he'll be asking for on his birthday.
