And, another great Irving Berlin musical...

Easter Parade...

Fred Astaire and Judy Garland...

Never saw you look quite so pretty before
Never saw you dressed quite so lovely what's more
I could hardly wait to keep our date this lovely Easter morning
And my heart beat fast as I came through the door
For

In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it
You'll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade

I'll be all in clover and when they look you over
I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter parade

On the Avenue
Fifth Avenue
The photographers will snap us
And you'll find that you're
In the rotogravure

Oh, I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet
And of the girl I'm taking to the Easter parade

My Friday Kareoke.....from one of my all time favorite artists (cheesy, I know) ......because this is the third day of sunshine in Central Ohio (the bad storms went through last night and we ended up in the basement at 4:35am!)

Sunshine on my shoulders by John Denver

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If i had a day that i could give you
I'd give to you a day just like today
If i had a song that i could sing for you
I'd sing a song to make you feel this way

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If i had a tale that i could tell you
I'd tell a tale sure to make you smile
If i had a wish that i could wish for you
I'd make a wish for sunshine all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
Sunshine almost all the time makes me high
Sunshine almost always

I love John Denver!!!

His songs always make me smile - simple and sentimental...

Kind of like the Carpenters...

HA HA HA HA.....who does "chino24" belong to? (on the teens/tweens thread)

Thought I'd check over there and see what was up....

here's what they said (bold added by me):

I'm on at different times. Like on weekdays I am usually on about 7 or 8. But on weekends I am on at just different times. Usually I am on when my mom gets off, sometimes thats not a lot. :rolleyes1 :bounce:  :Pinkbounc

HA HA HA HA HA.....whoever it is.....they beat my kid to saying it!! :)

Hey, I learned all about intaglio printing at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in D.C. (still think it was rude of them not to give out samples at the end of the tour!)

I remember we were at Mohican State Park and I saw a newspaper headline in the lodge that said "Denver dies in plan crash" and my first thought was "how could the entire city of Denver, CO die in a plane crash?" Nick was a baby....was it '97?

Prior to that my mom and I and some of her friends and sometimes my sisters would all go to his concert at Blossom and sit on the lawn and enjoy an evening of great music!

That's exactly what I thought of... but knew that no one else here would 'get it'.

Yes, it's a slow day at the office when I'm DIS-ing at 10:50AM and feeding popcorn to the dog. Only 3 of us (plus the dog) here.

OK... I guess it's time for Friday AM karaoke, before it gets to be Friday PM... on the 'sister theme'... one that fits my sister and I...

Hey girl it's me i just called to tell you hi
Call me when you get this
Haven't talked lately so hard to find the time
Give the boys a big kiss
Tell them that I miss them
By the way I miss you too

I was thinking just today
About how we used to play
Barbie dolls and make-up
Tea parties dress up
I remember how we'd fight
We made up and laughed all night
Wish we were kids again
My sister my friend

Oh yeah before I forget I met someone
I think I really like him
I was wondering if I'm jumping the gun
By going out on a limb
And invite him home for Christmas
To meet the family

Seem like just yesterday
You brought home old what's his name
He had been drinking
What were you thinking
After dinner he passed out
We can laugh about it now
We've learned a lot since then
My sister my friend

Do you think you could come and see me sometime soon
We could just hang out like we used to
It's late and I should go
But I can'y hang up the phone
Until I tell you
What I don't tell you enough
Even though at times it seemed
We were more like enemies
I'd do it all again
My sister my friend

(about the only song I can stand by Reba.)
In honor of my crazy sister (who I wish could join us on this cruise... she and I cruised together a few years ago on the "No Hubby, No Kids, No Problems" tour... we had a GREAT time!! (And Ray will be quick to point out that it was that warm-weather adventure in the middle of February that FINALLY convinced me to move to FL.)

All this talk of green swimsuits......made me look on-line....

Cancun Green -- How can I resist.....????? :thumbsup2

A top with the Dis sisters and swimsuits
How :cool1: is that?

Well, not much to catch up on when you review the posts at 11:00 pm...late night last night for us...Holy Thursday Services, and then shopping for Easter Dinner, then supper...

Anyone else dying Easter Eggs on Saturday????

YES! My kids can't wait for Saturday to get here. The nephews are coming in town for the day and we will dye eggs, have a hunt, and then we will bid them adieu and head to church for the neverending but so wonderful Easter Vigil service. Sometime between now and then I have to go buy food for Sunday. It might be a new tradition of pb&j sammies! YIKES! :rotfl:

Well I'm done with trying on the clothes for the cruise.

The good news is that everything fits (well maybe that is bad news because I was hoping to have lost weight so they would be too big).

The bad news for those who have cruised with me before is that you will recognize all the outfits. What can I say I'm not a fashion plate. :rotfl2: I don't have a ton of clothes and tend to wear the same things a lot.

We'll go over Mark's clothes tomorrow.

Well, YIPPIE! I'm not the ONLY one!! Yes, you'll recognize all of my outfits too. I don't have a ton of nice clothes. I do have a ton of bum around clothes (jeans, sweats, t-shirts) but as for cruise dinner clothes, they are the same outfits over and over! :) Oh well, if you're going on this cruise to critique my fashion, you'll be sorely disappointed!

Now....do mine fit? .....uh.....totally don't want to find that out yet!

Mary, you don't have to worry about me remembering your outfits, especially if you can pretend you don't remember mine! Short term memory loss has it's advantages. And if you guys don't believe me, just wait until we meet and I forget important things about you all. For instance, names!

The only outfit I might remember is Stacey's blue blouse that got red wine tossed all over it. And I don't think she's bringing it.

I just want a swimsuit with a little skirt or shorts that doesn't float up around your neck when you get in the water. I can't find anything on that website that promises that.

Glad you found us!!!!

(there, that tells you, in a nutshell, about MY short term and long term memory!) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good Morning everyone!

Friday Karaoke made me cry and smile at the same time.

Not entering the TAX discussion.

Fran....in my opinion, whatever works for you is a GOOD plan! We've had a lot of meetings lately with brokers and financial advisors, and despite their best efforts we're going with our own plan.

I'm thinking I may still color the Easter eggs before I make them into deviled eggs. Something about that doesn't seem right. It's Easter and we're making DEVILED eggs??
No more Easter bunny here, though. :guilty:

Diana...I found a couple of swimsuits somewhere along the way that promised the skirt would not "float" up....I'll see if I can find that site again.

I WISH I could wear the same clothes that I wore on the 10 night cruise!

WARNING TO ALL OF THE 10 NIGHTERS.......I have gained a TON of weight. So try to practice NOT having that shocked look on your face, okay?

Ahh, yes, the blue top with the lovely wine spill.....I tried to sneak up the back stairs to go change it, and who was walking up the stairs at the same time??? Captain Thord! How embarrassing. With Kevin's "Special Recipe" I did manage to get most of it out, though.
