Karen,
As they teacher how do you feel about Senior skip day?

I think you're my dad in disguise - a test on Senior skip day... :rotfl2: You don't happen to teach math, too..?

I have so many favorite movies that it's hard to pick just a few.
'I picked the wrong day to give up smoking.'
'ROUSs, I don't think they exist.'
'That "special" haircut.' and 'This one time, at band camp...'
And one that I just watched yesterday:
'It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas and half a pack of cigarettes. It's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it.'
'We're on a mission from God.'

gaRRy, I just registered with Illinois' new donor website. If you're registered there, the doctors don't need next of kin consent. But I'm not in your tri-state area, and most importantly, I plan on keeping my internal organs for a long, long time. Best of luck for you to get to the top of the list and get your new liver pixiedust: .

It's starting out to be a beautiful day here, although still very wet outside. We got over 3 inches of rain yesterday. It's going to be 75 degrees this afternoon before more storms head in. Now, what is a good favorite movie theme kareoke song for today...

How about this one:

Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee
Lousy with virginity
Won't go to bed 'til I'm legally wed
I can't; I'm Sandra Dee

Watch it! Hey I'm Doris Day
I was not brought up that way
Won't come across,
Even Rock Hudson lost
His heart to Doris Day

I don't drink (no)
Or swear (no)
I don't rat my hair (eew)
I get ill from one cigarette
(cough, cough, cough)
Keep your filthy paws
Off my silky draws
Would you pull that crap with Annette?

As for you Troy Donahue,
I know what you wanna do
You got your crust
I'm no object of lust
I'm just plain Sandra Dee

Elvis, Elvis, let me be!
Keep that pelvis far from me!
Just keep your cool
Now your starting to drool
Hey Fongool, I'm Sandra Dee!

Sandy:Are you making fun of me Riz?
Rizzo:Some people are so touchy!

"Comedy Tonight"
Stephen Soundheim's A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum"

(I know it's about the theatre - I'm taking a bit of liberty )

Something familiar,
Something peculiar,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!

Something appealing,
Something appalling,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!

Nothing with kings, nothing with crowns;
Bring on the lovers, liars and clowns!

Old situations,
New complications,
Nothing portentous or polite;
Tragedy tomorrow,
Comedy tonight!

Something convulsive,
Something repulsive,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!

Something aesthetic,
Something frenetic,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!

Nothing with gods, nothing with fate;
Weighty affairs will just have to wait!

Nothing that's formal,
Nothing that's normal,
No recitations to recite;
Open up the curtain:
Comedy Tonight!

Something erratic,
Something dramatic,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!

Frenzy and frolic,
Strictly symbolic,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!

Something familiar,
Something peculiar,
Something for everybody:
Comedy tonight!
Something that's gaudy,
Something that's bawdy--

Something for everybawdy!

Comedy tonight!

Nothing that's grim.

Nothing that's Greek.

She plays Medea later this week.

Stunning surprises!
Cunning disguises!
Hundreds of actors out of sight!

Pantaloons and tunics!
Courtesans and eunuchs!
Funerals and chases!
Baritones and basses!
Panderers!
Philanderers!
Cupidity!
Timidity!
Mistakes!
Fakes!
Rhymes!
Crimes!
Tumblers!
Grumblers!
Bumblers!
Fumblers!

No royal curse, no Trojan horse,
And a happy ending, of course!
Goodness and badness,
Panic is madness--
This time it all turns out all right!
Tragedy tomorrow,
Comedy tonight!

You know when they voluntarily get into bed instead of shooting hoops, they're sick! Hope he's feeling better!

And for AJ, that's a HUGE indication. He's home today from school. We'll make the pilgrimage to the Dr.'s office. Hey Mike, what times do you have available today? :lmao:

I'm waiting for DS to get on the bus. I had to get him out of the shower after 25 minutes! I threatened to start sitting in the bathroom with him if he didn't cut down on the shower time in the mornings. I'm surprised he didn't run our well dry. Good thing we got all of that rain yesterday, I guess. It's becoming a daily occurance for him. Must start setting the timer everytime he gets in the shower.

OK, where did everyone go? You'd think it was a workday or something. :confused3

I get an unexpected bonus - no PT clients today - I started training Pilates reformer clients at another YMCA last week and all 4 clients work every other Friday...

hmm - what to do, what to do???

I have to test for Pilates next month - maybe I should study?
or clean?

or DIS? hmmm....

Maggie's my long shower child - she takes after me...She's going to sleepover girl scout camp for the first time this summer - the couselor at the open house talked about taking fast showers so, she's practicing...She's down to 15 minutes...(unless, I'm rushed and then it's 30-45... )

Our new cockatiel turned out to be more expensive than I was expecting. She was sitting on my shoulder yesterday and pulled the diamond out of my earring. I'm guessing that she ate it, since we can't find it anywhere in the carpet. I told DH that I have something he and DS can get me for Mother's Day, now. Maybe I can find a good deal on some new ones in Coz. Anyone know about that?

Caleb is going to church camp for the 4th time. He's going to horse camp this year, and maybe we'll sign him up for another week that will take the Amtrak to Chicago for a day. My bet is that he doesn't take very long showers, if at all, even at horse camp  :crazy2: .

:guilty: Do any of you know anything about Guillain Barre syndrome? They think that my near SIL has it. She is young, and all by herself in Chicago. Her mom has flown up to be with her, but we don't know much about it. Just curious if anyone on here knows anything. Thanks!

I know someon who had Guillain Barre, got it after getting a flu shot, he is all better now took a while to recover...
