Great! I finally get caught up and y'all leave!

Spent this afternoon with 14 Brownies (girl scouts not the edible variety...rats :lmao: ) at the Ronald McDonald House and then the Rainforest Cafe. I was really impressed with the RMH and the service the house provides. slight plug - if you have a house near you they are always in desperate need of laundry soap, cleaning supplies and other household items and staples, also collecting popcan tabs- 1st time at Rainforest Cafe..I forgot to take my earplugs...yikes, is that place noisy...even without 14 brownie girl scouts...

Unfortunately, we didn't get home until almost 9:00pm - thankfully, Maggie gets her homework in advance so she was able to work ahead. Mike is busy working on Math and Social Studies - Murphy's law prevailed - it's the most homework he's had in two weeks...Don't think the leader really thought through homework and school hours - or, I think her kids are much more relaxed in their week night habits than our usual routines.

That's why God invented elevators!!!

I HATE my treadmill...........it stares at me while I lie in bed. :furious:

Have you been on a Disney cruise? You do NOT want to rely on the elevators to get you anywhere. They are SLOW, and 3/4 of the time when they finally get to you, they are full and leave without you. Seriously...if you CAN do stairs, do stairs.

Besides, it works off all of that creme brulee :)

Good so far. I started in January and have lost 18 lbs. I have about 60 though to go and know I will gain on the cruise.

My first cruise I ate like a pig (ok, that's a theme on ALL the cruises I've been on) and I took the stairs every time. Even going from 3 to 9! Whew. I didn't gain a single pound. :)

Having worked in an ICU at a Children's Hospital, I learned a lot about the RMH! We had parents of babies staying there all the time. It was (errr...IS) a wonderful place...where they can be close enough to be called if necessary, but not RIGHT there in the room getting NO sleep or down time at all.

Our Children's Hospital just built a big new one. Looks great from the outside. Thankfully, I've never had any reason to STAY there!

Well, the results show of American Idol should be interesting tomorrow. It was hard coming up with SOMEONE to vote for!

And their little prodigy who they said she was the "best one so far," IMHO, sounded like a dying cat. YIKES!

Well, no one else is here. If I want to talk to myself, I'll go in my living room and do it!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Where IS that Thorazine when you need it?? :lmao:

She's mailing more COOKIES. I want some more!!

Irene, you can stand by your PO Box because I mailed you something today. I hope they are still fresh.

I'll tell you what....if you sent ME this message, I would be very AFRAID! :scared: Just because it's fresh, doesn't mean it's good.

Was there ever a question of if we'd be going to CC twice, or was it just the other ports that were (are?) in doubt? The double-visit to CC was the only reason Jim wanted to go on this cruise.

No...I'm sorry..I was just repeating what she said entirely. The only one we were wondering about was Cozumel.

Unfortunately, we have had the need for a RMH. It was in 2003 in Roanoke, VA. DD then 6 had a strange staph infection that caused her airway to close up. It happened all of a sudden and she was helicoptered to the children's hospital. My in-laws came up in the middle of the night to be with us. The staff contacted RMH and found us a room. They were amazing! My in-laws and son had a huge room and they offered free meals. My husband and I spent the week at the hospital, but it was a God-send to our family. They charged very little and provided free toys, books, and games to my son. If your choosing worthy causes to donate to, choose RMH!
