So we got the external hard drive two days ago. Kevin saved his documents onto it last night. Tonight, he got the Blue Screen of Death. Yep, his hard drive died. How's that for fortuitous? Kevin owes you one, Stacey.

Now I need to get my stuff saved. My computer is two years younger than his, though.

Sounds like my night last night. I needed to update the maps in Sharon's Garmin. A simple little process.

I was on the phone with Tech Support for 60 minutes and then had to spend the rest of the evening fixing one problem after another.

At one point I got the Blue Screen of Death on the Garmin, but all is well now. I'm actually looking at buying another one since she does not want to share her's once she starts going to Orlando every day.

Mary,

Your story is too funny!!! I just love it.
I just can't keep up with all of you and hope that anything "cruise-related" wasn't too important for me to read.....!!!! ;)

We are all looking forward to dining near the early diners. We can hardly wait to make the drive down from CT to FL...we'll start a few days early so we can make a couple of stops in VA before hitting Cape Canaveral on Friday night.

Hope you all have a great night!

susan

Hi Susan - have you posted before ???? If not, welcome....if so, welcome back....you have a long drive, maybe you can start now and stay at WDW 'til the cruise?

No?

Well, I can dream... :cloud9:

Morning all --- time for :surfweb: and more coffee.....

Thanks for the stories, prayers and pixie dust - it made it's way here - and snatched Mother out of her depression - the issues are still with us, but at least she is coping and can laugh.....the result of which, we now must purchase a new mailbox --- ok, why not,,,,the house may be falling down, but at least she can get mail...but one step at a time.....she is not ready to face a move, and despite the recommendations on the websites, I am not ready to push her into it as then she just closes down and quits....so, we will wait.

And get a new mailbox :teeth:

Maybe I need to invite Karen and that "pushy girl" over to tea to cheer her up.

I did find a nice retirement village that I did not know existed. After wading through several very opinionated sales people at other places. No, you cannot know my Mother's name, no, I am not setting up an appointment today, No, you may not call me back in one week, I will call you ---geesh!

I will NOT be sharing the DIS swim thong photo with her, much less admitting I know the wearer :teeth: Still haven't 'fessed up that we are diving again, but she might feel better if she knew about the navy seals who were accompaning me :rotfl2:

NAH........

But Sam would :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

More info on the Coz. cruise. I had asked if her ship was docked --

Response ---

No docking since the docks are under water - it will be a year at least before any ship can dock (from what I was told). We tendered in a large ferry - not cramped - plenty of fresh air and very comfortable and FAST!

So let's hope Disney is as organized!!!!!!!!! It seems the island really needs the business as well.

And ???? Yes - the Morning TOP - No pirate: pirate: pirate: 's around to steal it so I grabbed....and even with silly 40 second rule, I got it!!!!!

Everyone have a great Tuesday......

I must, I must put ye ole nose to the grindstone today.....

LAter.... :wave2:

pdfg
:wizard:

Thanks - brighter but not settled. At least with a good frame of mind, we will be able to work through the difficult decisions ahead....

Well, no early laundry for me....someone used up all the detergent :) I will think if this as a good thing........

I could start taxes.........

NAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim,
If you have some time can you please explain to me how to do this? I have tried and I dont think I am quite "getting" it....will this update take care of like new business and that are not in the current map, or maybe business that have moved and are at a different location?

Irene, continued prayers & pixie dust to you. Don't give up on the search (if that's what you decide is right). It was the right decision for my grandmother ... the one that just celebrated her 90th b-day in LA. My grandfather passed away almost 4 years ago. She was home alone in their house. She never drove a day in her life, never worked outside of the home and lived to "serve" my grandfather. When he died, it was very hard on her and she started to lose her mind. My mom & her sisters made the decision to put her in a retirement home. It's a wonderful place. She has a one-bedroom apartment with a small fridge & sink ... no stove or oven. They have their 3 meals a day in their dining room. There are many activities for them and Mass daily (this one is owned by the Catholic church). Within a few months she was back to herself & told my mom & her sisters that she was ready to sell the house. At 90 years old, she's not doing too bad.

Some days, that 'simplicity' sounds just wonderful, doesn't it? Can I go NOW??? (Oh wait... I'm only 38... there's probably an age limit.)

All kidding aside, prayers and PD to you and your mom, Irene... its such a tough road, but she's lucky to have you to help her make the right decisions.... even if it is just a new mailbox for now.

It's waaaay better, if you see it full size. Ohminnie has one, maybe she can post it full-size!

The Assisted Living facility that Jay's dad lived in was a huge house, brand new...gorgeous. I actually loved going there, and just having coffee with the staff. I put my name on the waiting list.....no such thing as "too soon".
I used to beg them to let me come there NOW.

Jeanne is not able to live independently. I made the choice to have her live with me, I always say her assisted living facility is GREAT! And very, very reasonably priced. Of course the 'staff' needs an attitude adjustment every now and then.
