Karen -- I would also prefer Grand Cayman, but who knows at this point. I am surprised that they haven't even notified the April cruisers where they are going. Maybe they will try out Cozumel with them, then if there is a problem, they won't make us go there.

I don't really care either. It would be nice to go to Cozumel because Nick just finished a huge history unit on the Mayans, Aztecs, Incas and all that. So it'd be nice to see some real ruins (other than the ones at the Mexico pavilion at Epcot!)

But...education, shmeducation....

We'll go anywhere!!! Except maybe NORTH. I want HEAT!!!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

I'm with you!

We've done Coz and Costa Maya ever since the hurricane......several years ago.......knocked GC out of the western cruise. Our very first Disney cruise went to GC. It was very nice, but we were "newbies" and didn't know what to do. I bet DH could find us a cool excursion now!

Are the ruins in Costa Maya just as "educational" as the ones in Cozumel? I hope they're similiar; however, I don't want to use "educational" with the kids. They won't have any fun then.

Dunno. We're planning the Cozumel ones b/c those are the ones KT and Mike did 2 yrs ago after KT had studied the Mayans, et al.

We surely won't present this as educational....but it will help reinforce what they've learned. Nothin' like seeing the ruins up close and personal after you've studied the culture. :)

Plus there is the educational aspect of trying to balance a sandwich and an open cup of pop on a rocky bus. The lesson learned NOT to wear underwear in the ocean b/c it will show off your bum. The important lesson not to lose your shuttle ticket or the tractor driver will take your $20 bill and will pretend he doesn't know English enough to give you change. Or how about the lesson on how to tune out the rambling tour guide's long spiel about his dead grandmother??? :) :lmao:

Ah, not THOSE are what family memories are made of!! :)

We booked the San Gervasio Ruins in Cozumel and hubby will be really disappointed if we don't go there. I know the ones at Tulum are better, but I didn't want to spend all day on a tour.

Hi all....I've been trying to read in bed here, and catch up, but the Treo keeps hitting me in the face when I doze off. Guess I'll have to catch up at home.
The fireworks are amazing....we watched from in back of the castle and were surrounded by fireworks! And Tink was a huge surprise....she flew all over!
Yes, having fun......
'Night everyone!

Sounds like you are having a great time!!!
Enjoy!!

Thanks for asking - We will miss you in Jly - we are thinking May - debating between early cruises and chancy weather and a later May cruise and more crowded ships...July will be much better weather....

Using DVC poins, so it will be HAL - and I am thinking he one way cruise, renting a car for a week and then flying back......

Hints on Alaskan Cruising are welcome.....

We are there the first 2 weeks of September, we will be on Diamond Princess.
Cruisecritc has tons of info on Alaska
It looks great and I am excited just reading all the stuff and spending the 2 weeks with friends etc.

Congratulations Samantha! Here's to a much happier future for you and good luck on starting you own business.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to it. Not that I questioned my decision to leave, but it was solidified this morning when my soon-to-be ex-VP told me that in his opinion work/life balance goes both ways, and obviously I was leaning more towards LIFE. Uh, yeah. What... EVER!

Hopefully they'll parole me on Friday. You'll all hear me dancing with joy when that happens.

I'll help you if you come help me... :) Trying to talk Samantha into adding Personal Organizing into her new business venture. :teeth: I think it would be easier to bulldoze my house and start over...

That bad, huh? Sounds like my house. Just upstairs is ugly. With all this confusion of moving bedrooms, stuff is just put from one room to the next. Samantha...anytime you're ready..a NY trip is in your future..:rotfl2:

I said last night I have friends in Houston who are due a visit, and when I do, Monica's house will be on my list. Maria, you're not that far from my anyway. Whenever you're ready... (Once I'm paroled from my job, that is...)
