Hey, is anybody watching the Olympics? Is anyone else really bored with speed skating? I'm not finding boarding all that exciting either. Yeah, they go high up, and they do some spins up there, but big woop. Nice that the US team did so well, though I think it's kind of an American sport. Kevin was watching curling today, he couldn't believe that one.

Yeah, that lasted about 5min....... They even had "time outs" ????!!!!

Stingray city was amazing, I was a bit nervous to go but once I was there I loved it, it is an experience of a lifetime, it sure is different than being at a controlled environment place!!

Julia - I agree! We did it in Antiqua as well which is a more controlled enviroment and while it was fun it wasn't anything like in Grand Cayman. Just seeing them all come towards the boat when we pulled in - amazing!

Okay we'll see... but I'm just going to don my flame suit for this next comment of mine that might not go over well with others... so maybe I should explain a bit. We're not going on this cruise for "family" time. I'm with my kids practically 24/7 (save the amount of time they are at school when I'm NOT volunteering there). DH is with the kids every moment he's not working or sleeping. We don't get to go out without them to do anything- ever- because we don't have a babysitter

Hey! Sounds like my life except we homeschool! So I don't get the benefit of sending my kids anywhere all day.
Not really true. A 1 1/2 weeks ago I rushed my dh to the ER because we thought he was having a stroke (turns out no, but in all the scans they've found lots of other things wrong) ....after I dropped him off, I took the kids to a friends house, so I did have the day without the kids.
I will say I am lucky my parents live in the same state so at least they will take the kids for a week here and there and give me time off. It's not nearly close enough that I could drop them off so dh and I could do dinner, or I could get some shopping done without the kids, but it's something.

Why I say I'm a hard sell for any cruise is:
A) I'm very frugal... I like to do things inexpensively and this ISN'T inexpensive to cruise. LOL
B) I have had a fear of the ocean practically all my life and I'm still not sure at this very moment if I'm going to enjoy it at all or have a mild panic attack going on pretty much the entire time. Not sure if we'll have seasickness either. Yes I have been in boats (fishing/speed/etc.) around here but we don't have sharks in our lakes! LOL Yes, I have snorkeled briefly in Cancun and Jamaica -- and at the shark thing at TL... but each time I had to work on not freaking out. So my point is that I'm not sure I'm even going to enjoy being on the cruise, even if everything went PERFECT. KWIM?
C) I'd rather be at WDW.

Wow...sounds like me! I'm pretty frugal too....which is why we save for the Disney cruises b/c, although I'm frugal, I'm willing to spend money if I'm going to "get what I pay for." I hate spending money and getting crap...at least with Disney they provide an excellent service for my dime. Do I wish it was cheaper....sure...cuz then I'd go more often!!

Dh had to convince me to TRY a cruise....
I said the ONLY way I'd try it was if it was Disney....and even then I was NOT excited about it at all....
#1, I get motion sick in the passenger seat of a car, on amusement park rides, watching certain Playstation games, in any sized boat, etc etc. On my dad's boat my strategy was to take Dramamine....which put me to sleep....and then I'd get a horrible sunburn!
#2, I HATE HATE HATE....salt water and I HATE HATE HATE sand.
#3, I am not a big drinker, partyer, gambler, dancer, etc (which my sister IS and she LOVES cruises....so I figured anything she liked would SO not fit me)
#4, I HATE getting dressed up (a requirement for dinner)
#5, I did NOT want to give up a WDW vacation for a cruise......our first cruise was a 4 day.....with 9 days at WDW afterwards. As we left the ship we were ALL crying. We did NOT want to get off. My dd (8 at the time) said if DCL would let her stay on the ship for just FOUR more days, she'd be willing to give up her NINE days at WDW!!!

Since May of 2003 we've been on....a 4 day, a 3 day, a 4 day, a 7 day, a 10 day, a 4 day, a 7 day, and this will be a 7 day! Uh....I think we're hooked!

It's not that bad. It's got pink dots that move CW in a circle. You stare at them and they turn green. Stare at them some more and the disappear save on green dot that rotates around. Pretty neat, if your bored......

I learned in a trivia game on the NCL cruise that curling is the national sport of Canada. Jay knew it. Or was that England? No, Canada. Maybe not.
I guess I didn't really learn anything.

Yes, I got one too! And whoever told me it was "suitable for framing" was absolutely RIGHT. It looks SO good in our living room. A real conversation starter, that's for sure!!!!

Well, I went car shopping today.

It is really tough to find a vehicle that will haul all our dive stuff, be comfortable for our frequent 4-7 hour road trips with the kids, and NOT be a mini-van.

I'm tired of mini-van's but they sure are functional. And they keep everyone quiet and happy. The joy of having second row bucket seats.

Not sure what we are going to do, but I am tired of the old beater that I have....wait....I am going diving on Friday so the beater will come in handy again!

So, buy a nice intermediate size four door with a hitch and a dive trailer. SS insides, auto wash-down feature complete with a fill station with Nitrox!!
