The tree skirt is beautiful - can't believe someone is parting with it after all that work...

NO! It's not stitched! The kit is in a sealed bag!!

I have one *like* it...Peanuts, but a different pattern. Belongs to my mom though. She gave it to me to stitch for my brother, but it's way too complicated and something that would NOT be fun to stitch. Maybe I SHOULD stitch it and sell it on ebay....wonder what THAT would go for!!!

Nah, not worth it...I'd rather stitch FUN things! Right now I'm working on this one for my neighbor.... she's donig her nursery in Suzy Zoo (just like I did for MY kids!)

I have a 1/2 done Peter Rabbit birth announcement for my nephew. Let's see .. he's 10 now. It was just way too complicated.

:) I used to cross stitch often - My final "finished" project was a sampler for Mike when he was born - it's still not framed. I started a Precious Moments family tree soon after and thought I'd finish it for Maggie - still not done...

Mary/Mark - keepers of all things Double Scoop - Would it be possible as various cruise plans are finalized, they can be added to our webpage? Like the dinner rotations/theme nights...Could we do planned excursions, or would that be too cumbersome?

Shouldn't be a problem at all. I'll try to do some updates this weekend with the dinner rotations. If someone sees something they want added let me know.

Thanks!

THAT is cute. I know that when I talk about Mary around here, she is always referred to as "Mary, mother of Bear" otherwise she's confused with Mary, Mike's mom or Mary, my neice. Of course, Mark is "the husband of Mary, mother of Bear." :lmao:

You know that makes it sound like I was a single mother when Mark married me. Why isn't he father of Bear? :rotfl2:

Woo Hoo a top with Karen, Mark and Bear!

Back by popular demand...

It's Friday Kareoke Time....

(Even though this technically isn't a Peanuts song - it still ranks as one of my favorite "Charlie Brown" songs...)

"Charlie Brown" sung by The Coasters...

Fe-fe, fi-fi, fo-fo, fum
I smell smoke in the auditorium

Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown
He's a clown, that Charlie Brown
He's gonna get caught
Just you wait and see
(Why's everybody always pickin' on me)

That's him on his knees
I know that's him
Yeah, from 7 come 11
Down in the boys' gym

Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown
He's a clown, that Charlie Brown
He's gonna get caught
Just you wait and see
(Why's everybody always pickin' on me)

Who's always writing on the wall
Who's always goofing in the hall
Who's always throwing spit balls
Guess who (who, me) yeah, you

Who walks in the classroom, cool and slow
Who calls the English teacher, Daddy-O

Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown
He's a clown, that Charlie Brown
He's gonna get caught
Just you wait and see
(Why's everybody always pickin' on me)

[Instrumental Interlude]

Who walks in the classroom, cool and slow
Who calls the English teacher, Daddy-O

Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown
He's a clown, that Charlie Brown
He's gonna get caught
Just you wait and see
(Why's everybody always pickin' on me)

My favorite by the Royal Guardsmen

Snoopy vs. the Red Baron

After the turn of the century
In the clear blue skies over Germany
Came a roar and a thunder men had never heard
Like the scream and the sound of a big war bird

Up in the sky, a man in a plane
Baron von Richthofen was his name
Eighty men tried, and eighty men died
Now they're buried together on the countryside

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

In the nick of time, a hero arose
A funny-looking dog with a big black nose
He flew into the sky to seek revenge
But the Baron shot him down - "Curses, foiled again!"

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

Now, Snoopy had sworn that he'd get that man
So he asked the Great Pumpkin for a new battle plan
He challenged the German to a real dogfight
While the Baron was laughing, he got him in his sight

That Bloody Red Baron was in a fix
He'd tried everything, but he'd run out of tricks
Snoopy fired once, and he fired twice
And that Bloody Red Baron went spinning out of sight

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

This is an appropriate song for NY today:

Rain, rain, go away
Come again some other day
We want to go outside and play
Come again some other day

Where's the snow? I want the snow!! (I know that Kikipug moved South to get away from the snow, but I still love it). The kids didn't even get a chance to use their new sleds/saucers they got for Christmas yet. I love when it snows and it's oh so quiet outside. Everything is muffled. :cold: OK, is there anybody out there that's never seen or been around snow? I have a cousin who used to live in Hawaii and her kids, at one point, never saw snow. That was cool.

OK, back to cruise talk....

Rain Rain Go Away is a good song for Chicago but I don't want the snow either. Give me some sunshine! :sunny:

Another reason I want the snow is that if we don't get enough, we'll have water shortages in the summer. Who wants that? No watering the lawn (which I hope to be getting a new one this year), no washing the car. Get my drift? Ten years ago when I had my oldest son, AJ, we had a blizzard on January 2nd, 1996. It was great. No one went anywhere. Everything just stopped. That's the kind I want.

We were hoping to get crawfish when we go to Louisiana in 2 weeks but that may not be feasible. The hurricanes hurt the industry as well as the fact that there has been not much snow up north this year. Hurricanes hurt the pond crawfish & lack of snow has hurt the spillway crawfish. The spillway areas rely on the melting snow to fill their basins. This probably applies to the lack of snow in Mary's area rather than Maria's.

That's an appropriate song for FL today, too... (though it was 82 for Groundhog Day yesterday.)

We need the rain so desparately... brush fires have been popping up pretty often, and we don't need the whole state ablaze again. But I still hate the rain.

I just hope that I get my usual Florida Birthday wish... 80 degrees for my birthday later this month. In NH, it used to be that I hoped that the temperature would get above the date (23)... now I am spoiled... I want 80 and sunshine for every birthday!

My brother from CT (who LOVES the snow and hates the heat) will be here next week... it's supposed to be a chilly 67... he'll be in shorts, we'll be in windbreakers.

Hmmm....if I remember the story correctly, you were NOT married when Bear arrived.

correct me if I'm wrong (I know Jim would!) ;) :lmao:

Me too!! If it's going to be winter and cold, I want snow. Not like yesterday when it was low 40's and raining all day! (well, it was sunny enough for the groundhog to see his shadow, then the sky went grey)

Tomorrow they are predicting snow--2-4 inches. If it's that much, Mike and Nick skip the OSU game. No point driving in THAT if you don't HAVE to!

Yeah, right. Like THAT is going to happen! :lmao:

Ok, my favorite Peanuts song, Karoke style....

uh....

you know, the peanuts dance music....

there aren't words.

lousy Karoke song, I guess. :)

My husband can be totally clueless. Around here, I'll say "Mark & Mary" and he says "Who?" and I say "You know, the ones with Bear" and he says "Ohhhh". :teeth:
We found out when Megan first went to school that we weren't Jay & Stacey anymore, we were "Megan's Mom and Dad". I'm used to it now.

And before you get offended that he doesn't remember.....I can mention one of my brothers, an old friend, a new friend...it doesn't matter...he always says "Who?".
:confused3

The first time Ohminnie mentioned the Peanuts tree skirt, the Red Baron song went through my head....
