And that is BEFORE You were a DIS moderator. Think what they'll do for you NOW!!!! ;)

I'm not sure we're doing Palo dinner this time. I'm not thrilled with dinner. Too much of ONE thing. I MUCH prefer the brunch. But I could do Palo dinner just for the souffle. Bring me that for my appetizer, entree, and dessert!!

Karen - we'll have to see what Head Server we get. If it isn't the same one you just had maybe we can convince him/her to bring some souffles to the table!

I agree that I'd rather do brunch.

Maybe I'll approach him upfront and say "listen buddy, your tip depends on this ONE thing. get everyone at the table souffle, we double your tip. no souffle, you get nothing. take it or leave it." ;) ;) What's a head server's tip $3.25 a person? Double our family's tip...that makes it an additional $13. If we went to Palo, it'd be $20 PLUS we always tip more. We could SAVE money by bribing the head server.

BUT... I will say, we found a decent alternative. I think we were at Lumiere's and had the Chocolate Lava Cake. Well, on the CHILDREN'S menu that night they had some dessert with vanilla sauce. SO we ordered the lava cake and a side of vanilla sauce.....near perfection.

Yes. SHe was supposed to be on the LAST survivor, but lost her son just before they were going to start filming (her only son...16 yrs old)

I think that did hurt her, she should have told ppl about it. Instead she went off alone and acted weird and ppl didn't like that she was a "loner." I think she'd have gotten more empathy if she'd have just come out with it to pre-empt the talking.

I think something must have been going on that they weren't showing. Like she was really bossy or something. I can't imagine that they would consider her a "threat" this early, when they really need her. I'm thinking they're going to be merging with the older men next week (Cirie was talking about Shane wanting to leave). If not, they're toast.

We have a BEAUTIFUL day here in ATL. I just went out walking with a co-worker - the temp is 64, the sun is shining, the squirrels were scurring about. Boy was it hard to come back to the office.

...I think we are down to just making the on-line resverations on February 26. ::yes:: I have already taken care of the airline tickets, the car rental, the hotels, the cruise insurance. We even have our time reserved for the shuttle to the port from the Radisson...
With all that done, what am I going to do for the next 3 months to entertain myself:confused3 I guess I will just have to spend more time DISing:surfweb:
I know that feeling, Pam. I have airline, hotels, rental car, towncar after the cruise, shuttle ressie from Radisson to port all taken car of. The only thing we don't know yet is what we'll do before the cruise. :confused3 We'll arrive late on the 23rd. We're thinking SeaWorld for a day. We were going to do Cirque Du Soliel one night, but there are no shows the week we are there; might do Hoop Dee Do instead after hanging around DTD. Not sure that we want to spring for WDW tickets for just a couple of days. We're not staying on-site and it would be hard to decide which parks to see and what to do. We'll be driving to Cocoa Beach Friday morning and hanging around there until check-in time at the Radisson.

Remember, though, at Tribal Council....she was saying "I started the fire, I caught the fish..." (which she lied about, she didn't CATCH it) ....I think that was the straw that broke the camel's back so-to-speak. And they had all been talking about how they knew that they couldn't beat her in a Challenge, when it comes to that later on. They were pretty stupid, though. If they don't merge with another group, they may all starve to death. Which wouldn't hurt Cirie too much!

My thoughts for the early diners.....

The way we have it figured, yes, Cozumel will be Pirate night. I think the excursion has us back to the ship by 5:00, Mary. Which still doesn't allow a whole lot of time to shower and change, but, there isn't much you can do about that. I have a feeling that now that DCL has "staggered" the dining times, they have a lot of people coming in 15 mins to a half hour late.

The good thing about Sail Away night, at least it's casual. And that's probably what I would do (like Mary said) I'd change after the life boat drill.

It's kind of too bad that we stay anchored in Cozumel so late. It might have been nice to sit at Fat Tuesday and have a drink and watch the sun go down.
As it is, the time there seems wasted.

I was rooting for the older women until they voted her off. How could they keep someone who was afriad of the leaves! I guess I'll root for the older men, now. I can't believe that Shane was a 3-pack-a-day smoker and chose to go cold turkey. What was he thinking? The younger men don't seem to be too bright; they might be entertaining.

Another Cruise Related Tid BitFor those of you who are interested, the Character Breakfast for our APL rotation will be on Sunday morning....Castaway Cay day.

I'm thinking that at least three of those "older women" are younger than me.....and every time Jeff said "Older women", I cringed!

And I guess because I am an "older woman"....I'm rooting for the "older men"!! :thumbsup2

Speaking of "Older men"....thanks for the set-up, Jim!!! T.O.P.

I know that we'll want to do the character breakfast. What does that mean for us? What time will it be? Does that mean that we'll be late getting off the ship at Castaway Cay?

That's exactly what I was thinking this morning (insert Twilight Zone music here... oh wait... that's no good for karaoke either!!! :rotfl2: )

I was thinking of their Holiday(dare I say Christmas) special when they are singing and all you see is their little mouths making an "O". I love those parts.

These last couple of times we've done sailaway from our own verandah. MUCH nicer. Not windy, no pushing and shoving, no kids getting stepped on....and you can change in phases (QUICK, Honey, get your pants on, here comes Jetty Park!!!)

Of course, this cruise we're going to be on the "wrong" side of the ship....

Oh...MARIA.....looking for company for sailaway?????

So that means we'll be on the "right" side for something...waahhoo!!! Come on over, but I think we'll be on deck 9 or 10 for the sailaway. We're new at this, remember?

You'll have a time assigned for breakfast, and it will be before the time to get off the ship. You don't have to stay at breakfast the whole time. You can go in and eat, see some of the characters that walk around (usually Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Chip & Dale) and then head out.
Your breakfast time will probably be at about 8:00.

I'm still going upstairs for Sail-away. I love the festive mood, the music, the kids...the excitement. That's one thing about a Disney cruise that is SOOOO much more fun than the other cruise lines!!
And besides....aren't we going to have a DIS MEET????

You don't say? Talk about me :stir:

this is the type of thing that happens on news shows. something is taken totally out of context and then skewed the wrong way.....

i expect that on CNN, but not amongst FRIENDS!!

just leave me your KTTW card. make sure you don't remove the charging privledges first! :)

yeah, yeah, you're new...you'll DEFINITELY want to be up top.

I can always hang over the railing on deck 4 and be happy too. :) Just can't change for dinner out there.

This last sailing it didn't matter b/c we sailed out late (flights were late getting in) We were at dinner when we heard and felt the engines rumble and we knew we were on our way.
