I was looking last night at our excursion in Cozumel....supposedly, the boat took us to snorkel at Chankanaab and Palankar Reefs. If that's the case, then there wasn't anything at Chankanaab....the reef was very nice, clear and lots of fish...but I sure didn't see anything on land around there worth seeing.

Supposedly Chankanaab got pretty beat up. On the dolphin discovery site, all it says is a new and better facility coming soon (or something like that.) I have always wanted to do one of the catamaran rides with some snorkeling. No diving for me. One of them looks okay, just have to figure out what to do in Coz and then Costa Maya. I don't want to go into the jungle in Costa Maya.

Will you do Tulum though Disney or do you do it on your own???

I know what you mean about staying in bed. I had a house full of company after our trip to WDW and that is when I got the stomach flu. I still got up and cooked the next morning and picked up after everyone all day.


I too have to have motivation to lose weight. I lost 30 pounds last time, but of course I have gained all of that back. I can already tell a little difference on some of those things that had gotten too tight, that usually helps to make me want to stay with it.

I lost about 40 before Megan's wedding cruise, and had gained back about 10 before the Christmas cruise...now ALL of it is back, and then some. I should be ashamed of myself! I would definitely at least be a little more comfortable if I got 15 of it off, and I think I can do that before the cruise. And who knows? Maybe it will feel so good, I'll keep going.

Get some rest now.....we have to start making sure we are all healthy until at least the middle of June! (Never too early to start!)

There are a few of us here who are doing Tulum...and for that long a trip (all day) we will definitely do it with Disney, just to stay on the safe side. That's how I decide whether to book on our own, or do the ship's....usually the time factor.

In Cozumel, we used "Shore Trips" to book a boat (more of a speed boat, not a Cat) that took just our family snorkeling at 3 different reefs. Coz was in pretty sad shape, but the water and reefs were wonderful!

I've had all the fun in jungles that I care to have, so we're trying to decide between just going to the beach, or finding a boat to go snorkeling. I'm thinking a short snorkel trip, with time left over to explore the huge port facilities. Either that, or just going to Mahajual and plant it on a beach.

I did read that there's a pretty nice reef nearby....but you have to take a boat to get to it. I also read that you can just grab a boat at the pier, but I'd rather have something booked ahead of time if we decide to do that.

We have to take down all of the Christmas decorations this morning. We made it to the 12th night. For me, this is now the start of Mardi Gras season. I guess it won't be quite the same this year though. I'm getting excited about our trip "home" next month.

All of this talk about excursion is making me think I need to do some investigating. With 2 small children, I can't imagine us doing anything other than a beach. Anyone have any suggestions? Remember, we're cruise newbies so I have no idea about anything!

Angie, I think we are going to play iy by ear as far as excursions go. The only thing I KNOW I want to do is any GROUP activity/excursion that we may plan. Is there still any talk of that going on?

But, John keeps reminding me of the " favorite" part of the movie character theme - so, Jamie Lee Curtis in the little black dress would get the guys' votes - not mine. John is lobbying for Ginger Rogers since I'm a huge Fred Astaire fan...I have a dress that would work - just need a blonde wig... I still have plenty of time to decide...keep those ideas coming!

John decided that every "star" studded event needs the paparazzi - he'll be running around with his camera. The hostess has rented a red carpet for her walkway- so, he's decided he'll stake out the red carpet as people arrive.
