Has anyone in her class recently had strep?

Thanks OHMinnie & Virgil. I decided to call the ped's office when her temp started shooting up to 102. I've got an appt. this afternoon. I also gave her a dose of Motrin.

She has fever, swollen throat (not necessarily bright red) and stomach ache (that's what was making me think strep). And, she may have been exposed to someone with strep. Her best friend's mom is the director at the day care the girls go to. Savannah had a low-grade fever on Tues. afternoon when her mom picked her up from school. Her fever was gone on Wed. but she kept her out of school & brought her to day care with her. She & Emily played together Wed. afternoon. Well yesterday when we picked Ashley up, the asst. director said that the director had to leave to go get Savannah from school. She had a 104 temp so brought her to the dr. The dr. said that it was a serious sinus infection and possibly strep but they didn't do the test because it would be too painful and the antibiotics would kill it anyway.

So, we'll see! (Sorry, that was sort of long.)

Y'all are in the 60's/70's during the day? 50's at night? I'm trying to figure out what to pack for WDW. I'm more concerned with during the day - shorts; capris; short sleeve tops? Thanks!

Well, I'm the one taking a jacket to key Largo because it is cold as it is in the 60/70s there.

I never wear shorts and short tops in WDW even in the summer as the sun can be very bright and burn tender skinned me.

If you are not planning on going to the hotel before nightfall, perhaps light weight slacks should be included as it can get cold off the lake at Epcot. Capris might fit that bill.

It might rain, so you may need more changes than normal....and seriously I would bring a light jacket....Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello from Las Vegas! Megan & I were in bed by 2 am....not bad for us!
She tricked me into seeing a show last night that I thought was Disney....I thought it had Chip & Dale in it!
Heading out...shopping, going to take her to see the Titanic exhibit, and maybe "Treasures from the Kremlin" at the Venetian's Guggenheim. Or we may save that one until tomorrow. Quite a bit cooler here than Phoenix....a good 10 degrees lower. I had an e-mail that they had another lockdown at the kids' school...glad I didn't know until it was over & the kids were safe. There was an intruder at the middle school adjacent to Jared's...but didn't catch the guy.
BTW....I thought another "sign" of strep was possible white spots in the throat?? No?

We're back from the dr. They did a rapid strep test and it came out negative. I have to call back in the morning to see what the overnight test did. So, it's just a virus that has to run its course. The dr. said that they are seeing lots of it. Another $15 to the dr. this week. I swear our family alone keeps them in business during the winter!!!

Nope, didn't do the Airborne this past trip, bought something from them that we thought was a new chewable version, but it turns out was a sore throat helper, not full on Airborne the protectant.

Wow... lots of germs on this board... hope everyone is feeling better soon! Our office had one strep-infected person last week... so far, everyone else seems OK... our company party is tomorrow night... I spent all day setting up... the 'cook team' has already started slow cooking all the meat... should be good!
