MEEEEE TOOOOOOOOO

sorry....no one seemed to be here so I went off online Christmas shopping....

I'm this close |<----->| to being DONE!

My Christmas dilemma:

I had ordered Jordan a bracelet from Josten's...the class ring people. It's a bangle with the year she graduates and her name....anyway, I understood that it wasn't going to arrive until the end of the school year when the yearbooks come.
So I got her a couple of things for Christmas, and got Jared an equal number/value of things. (Has to be "even" you know!)

Well, I got a phone call today...the bracelet will be here by Friday.

So....do I give it to her for Christmas (thus, having the gifts be "unequal") or save it for her birthday in May...or, get Jared something else?

The two problems with saving it for her birthday: I am no good at keeping secrets like that. And..I'm afraid I'll hide it and forget about it, or forget where I hid it.

Yup, I understand the "Even" thing. (sigh)

I was going to say "save it until her birthday" until I read the rest of your post at which point I totally agree with you....that's something I would do.

In fact, I just did. There was a Disney pin Nick wanted. It was no longer made, but I found it in a lot on ebay. So I bought it. Nick knew I did. Well, I put them away for Christmas. This was 8 weeks ago. Today he said "hey, that ebay seller never sent you those pins you won." Now I have no idea where they even are!!!!! (sigh again)

Could someone please explain Amazon Prime to me? I thought it meant I would get free 2 day shipping meaning no shipping charges ever? I signed up for a free 3 month trial...I am not so sure I understand what the purpose of it it, as I am trying to place an order but it is still charging me shipping.

I've never been TO Atlanta....only been THROUGH Atlanta, and I agree with most everything on the email!! Did you know also, that it ALWAYS pours rain and is night when we drive through Atlanta? Always!

Funny story....once we stopped at a Longhorn in Georgia on a trip to Disney (I want to say Valdosta).....Mike ordered "Regular Tea" and this waitress with a thick southern drawl said "Honey, in the south sweet tea IS regular tea."
That is absolutely true about the tea! LOL When we go visiting my family in Colorado, Steve can not quite wrap his miind around the fact, that not only do regular restaurants not HAVE sweet tea, but BK and MCds do not have it either! THe nerve of them! LOL It also confuses him that FLA does not have sweet tea either. He think that is as south as you can get, yet you cant get sweet tea. At least not once we hit hit the fla state line on I 75 S.

Sorry, Amanda, I don't know anything about Amazon Prime. I also don't know what sweet tea is...anyone?

I lost all the Easter basket goodies one year. I had to wake Megan up (she was probably 16, Jordan 8, Jared 5) and ask her if she saw which direction in the house I had headed when I carried in the bags! She knew, though, and I found them...in the linen closet.

Amanda, I signed up for the Amazon Prime trial today too. I think you get the shipping free if you do the "one click" thing. At least, I hope so. If you use regular check out, you have to choose the super saver shipping.

Yes, I bought my own Christmas present today. A Nikon D50 SLR digital camera, with two lenses. Looks like fun. I needed a new camera, and one of the dance Moms has this one. Takes amazingly good action shots!

I just learned this recently, and I grew up drinking sweet tea in Texas. But it's only sweet tea if it's brewed with sugar, if the sugar is added later it's sweetened tea.

Stacey, I need to go look up that bracelet. Is it high school specific, because we're not sure where Alicia will graduate from? Sounds like a nice present for next year maybe.

Yeah, we did some pretty good power shopping in Antigua. Got my favorite t-shirt there! It was Christmas Eve, all the locals were out shopping. It was like a big street party. And Stacey saw the cutest necklace, still haven't seen anything like it. It was a pearl disc on a chain, with an "S" in diamonds floating on it. You should have bought it!

Sure they do! Stop at any Chick fil A! Or my personal preferance - go to Publix! They have the best sweet tea in quarts, gallons or individual size bottles. We've also been able to have it a couple of places on property. Don't forget Cracker Barrel as well.

Hey everybody. I am here in my hotel in Austin trying to catch up on work emails and thought I would check in. I flew in Yesterday and stayed with my folks last night. My dad looks great. A little weak still, but you can't tell he was seriously ill this time last week in ICU. I am going back up to stay with them on Friday before going home on Saturday. I can't believe I leave for Disney in just over 2 weeks. Time sure has flown by.
Take care everyone,

I thought the "penguin-napping" scene was interesting! Who knew that penguins, so torn up with grief, would steal another baby!!?!?!?!?

Just the thought of that is amazing, much less seeing it happen and the reaction from others. I'd go one further, probably some of the chicks, whose mother didn't make it back, might get 'adopted' by a mother who already lost a chick at some point too. There seemed to be a good number of penguins without chicks just hanging around, both when it was the mother or father's turn to stay with them.

And as you already know, the difference between the two is outright huge.

Up here the only kind of outright sweet tea that we find at the store has lemon in it, either Lipton or... Tradewinds(?). I don't really notice the lemon, but Mary sure does!

Was going to suggest Sonic too, but they're only by the panhandle. Wouldn't know about McD's, the only thing I'll have from them is breakfast and I'm strictly a oj person in the am, and havn't been to a BK in Florida.

Now here's a plan; do you know where the outlet mall is along I-4 right across from Downtown Disney? There's a huge catholic church there too. A bit further up the frontage road, past Dolly Parton's dinner show, is a McD's that we have been to before. It is very nice, and has this goregous aquatic theme revolving around turtles going on including a fantastic sculpture in the center of the room. It's always very clean and is usually not crowded. Have breakfast there, and go a teeny bit further to the Publix there and you'll be set. :)

Mark - thank you - that is lots of trouble, but if the show is that good, I will not say No...... :flower:

FYI - Sunburn update --

Thanks for all the tips. And the winner is:

Solarcaine Aloe gel is great for "normal" sunburn, but you tend to turn green.

However, I now swear by the second skin product for the bad burns. I used these on my ankles where the burn was raw. It would have been cheaper to buy the company, we must have spent over $100 on the little boxes, but they were well worth it. I wonder if they make larger patches for over the counter use. I have not even blistered - unreal.

Commercial over...

Good Morning All - Put xmas lights on my fence yesterday. Jeanne can see them from her bedroom window and she went to sleep humming holiday music. I hope I remember that moment when I take the lights down!
